4oz on tap at the taproom. Mostly clear red-brown color. Thin off-white head. Leaves great, thicker lace. Good, thicker sheets of lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick. Moderate sweet taste, lighter bitter. Cocoa chocolate, some toasty. Caramel malt up front. Moderate sweet. Mild spiciness. An OK amber ale.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark amber pour with a an off white head. Malty aromas. Loads of malts and grains. Some roasty backbeats. Good body and mouthfeel.

Pours a clear mahogany-amber - pale buff head is thin, but that may be the ay it was poured. Malty aroma has earthy and cinnamon hints. Flavor starts with a malty core and adds notes of cinnamon and horehound, as well as an earthy hint. Mouthfeel is fairly firm and somewhat fizzy. A good stunt.

GTAEgeek (2464) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 5, 2013
On tap at the Thirsty Monk. Clear, gold color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is resin, some light earth, butterscotch, and cereals. Sweet flavor up front, with very little hop bitterness. Light to medium body, syrupy, and clingy. Overall, this is a weak brown ale.

Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Beer #8 Asheville trip. Not my favorite. Medium brown, decent head. Light malt aroma. Flavor is just sort of random caramel accented malts and vaguely earthy hops. Didn’t really strike me as a brown. Just sort of hit me as an "ale." Just kind of there.

On draft. Pours brown medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and nuts. Medium sweet flavor. Medium body, creamy texture, finishes with a nutty bitterness. Enjoyable brown ale overall.

Poured an amber color with a small head. I got a slight nuttiness to this one, and found it a fairly easy drink.

GnarlyGnome (673) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2012
Draft, sampler: it’s a nice brown color with an off white head. Aromas are a little lacking, slightly sweet. The flavor is a little roasty, but thin.
