Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Nutty sweet aroma with some toasty malts. The flavor has light nutty sweetness, toasted bread, and a light floral bitterness. Pretty good. kp (10880) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 25, 2011

Draft at the brewpub on Coxe. Yep, it’s Brown. Mellow and creamy. Like a lot of the beers at this place, it seems a bit too thin, unfortunately. Just a hint of a brown ale lurking in here. (#4297, 10/5/2011) Travlr (27125) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Draft, pulled through a randall with apples, nutmeg and cinnamon. Very creative! Aroma of molasses. Taste is like brown roasted apple juice. Interesting.

Tap at Asheville Brewing - pours a brownish orange with a thin white head. Aroma is a bit nutty. Taste is mild a little smoky. Palate is a little dry. Overall, there is nothing wrong with it, but it is forgettable. DiarmaidBHK (6187) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Pours brown from tap with a thin head and a bit of effervescence. Not a lot on the nose or the tongue. Meh. unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - AUG 21, 2011

AP. Light brown color. Aroma is light scent of malt. Thin textured, tastes of chocolate malt, a bit of earth, mild bitterness. Perfect for pizza.
Appearance: Pours a clear, medium brown body with a slight, slender white head.
Smell: A nose of bread, barley, and a dusting of cocoa powder backed ever so slightly by hints of dried herbs.
Taste: Lightly sweet, toasty malts, with some herbal hop tones akin to a brewed cup of tea. Then, some late-arriving sweetish hints of caramel and cocoa. Very, very minor touch of citrus fruit. Lightly bitter. Drying, but elements of the darker malts leaning towards cocoa on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It’s okay, decent for a light, earthy brown ale. ucusty (2693) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Light brown pour with a slight haze. Aroma is nutty, citrus and roasty, One of the more aromatic beers I tried that day @ AP. Bready, toasted malts, light roast and toffee
