This is our highly hopped, high-altitude rendition of the classic India Pale Ale redefined as Independence Pass Ale. Like the high mountain pass, this copiously hopped brew is not to be trifled with. Our IPA marries generous amounts of Columbus, Cascade and Simcoe hops - the floral and citrous flavors are perfectly balanced by our secret malt recipe. Don’t pass this one up!

Cosy little brewery in downtown Aspen. Had this IPA and loved it. Had another favorite with 9.2% ABV but was a bit much.

ALLOVATE (3029) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 16, 2017
Hazy, pastel orange body with a huge, pluming white crown that holds and laces well. Phenolic, plastic, Band-aid™, mace and pine-needle aroma with a hit of fermenting fell fruit and dusty soil - slightly mineral-like and alkaline. On the palate it is rough and hardlly integrated but drinks with ease. Bitter, herbaceous hops; low esters, again like fermenting fruit but with a lingering taste of vitamin ’C’ tablet. Soapy, alkaline feel. Phenols and a grapeskin puckering astringency. Burnt rubber, apricot. Lasting phenolic kick. Puffed rice and toasted malt. A big lot of what I don’t want in an IPA. Alcohol amazingly well hidden. Just weird!! (12fl.Oz can, no date stamp, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

solidfunk (9007) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - APR 9, 2017
Some pine and decent malt. Light bitter finish. Orange pour with decent head. Bitter finish. Not bad like drunken sex. Tap.

Leafs93 (2305) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 24, 2017
Pours golden orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is earthy, light citrus and bready. Taste is mild bitters with good amount of sweetness. Medium bodied, good carbonation and crisp finish.

jcos (1851) - Maryland, USA - FEB 11, 2017
Can on 2/11/2017. Pours a semi opaque orange with some hints of red. Aroma of light citrus. Light medium bitterness, some citrus. Light medium bitterness, short aftertaste.

DocLock (10721) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2017
Can from Whole Foods PM. Pours turbid orange with off-white head. Nose is great tropical fruit and melony hops. Tastes hoppy, caramel malty, a bit cloying as it warms, solid.

r464 (2361) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2017
Nicely balanced. A good dose of citrus and bready malt. Slightly bitter and quite hoppy as the finish comes on. Smooth and full.

Dredd (947) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JAN 18, 2017
Nice sweet aroma with light pine and citrus notes. Good light malt notes with a affirmative but not too grippy bitter finish. Quite sessionable for a 7% beer.

Leighton (21477) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2016
Can at home in London - picked up at the Drinker’s Paradise. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds some white grape, tangerine, white bread. Medium sweet flavour with ripe, gooey citrus fruits, sugary pale bread, crackers, a little oily pine, a little floral spice. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with more chewy, sugary citrus, tangerine, melon, simple pale bread, mild piney bitterness. A bit basic overall, but not bad.

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2016
Can. Pours a slightly hazy copper body with a one finger frothy beige head. The nose is way more caramel and husky malt than it is hoppy. Not a great start for an IPA. The flavor is much the same, very husky and grainy with light bitterness. There’s not a whole lot of hop flavor to this at all, just a light bitterness. Medium bodied with a slightly rough texture and fizzy carbonation. Not a great IPA, this hits all the wrong notes.

bulldogops (2701) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 23, 2016
Rating #2215 - 2015.12.03 - Bottle #3 in the 2015 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with big C overtones - big citrus/pine presence., Taste is more of the same, dry, spicy hops and doughy malts dominating the flavour, with a dose of pink grapefruit sweetness sure to last. Lovely
