This is our highly hopped, high-altitude rendition of the classic India Pale Ale redefined as Independence Pass Ale. Like the high mountain pass, this copiously hopped brew is not to be trifled with. Our IPA marries generous amounts of Columbus, Cascade and Simcoe hops - the floral and citrous flavors are perfectly balanced by our secret malt recipe. Dont pass this one up!

Cosy little brewery in downtown Aspen. Had this IPA and loved it. Had another favorite with 9.2% ABV but was a bit much.

Nice sweet aroma with light pine and citrus notes. Good light malt notes with a affirmative but not too grippy bitter finish. Quite sessionable for a 7% beer.

Can at home in London - picked up at the Drinkers Paradise. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds some white grape, tangerine, white bread. Medium sweet flavour with ripe, gooey citrus fruits, sugary pale bread, crackers, a little oily pine, a little floral spice. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with more chewy, sugary citrus, tangerine, melon, simple pale bread, mild piney bitterness. A bit basic overall, but not bad.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy copper body with a one finger frothy beige head. The nose is way more caramel and husky malt than it is hoppy. Not a great start for an IPA. The flavor is much the same, very husky and grainy with light bitterness. Theres not a whole lot of hop flavor to this at all, just a light bitterness. Medium bodied with a slightly rough texture and fizzy carbonation. Not a great IPA, this hits all the wrong notes.

Rating #2215 - 2015.12.03 - Bottle #3 in the 2015 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with big C overtones - big citrus/pine presence., Taste is more of the same, dry, spicy hops and doughy malts dominating the flavour, with a dose of pink grapefruit sweetness sure to last. Lovely

Can from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar
Golden color, clean. A bit too caramelly, but not too dark, with correct bitterness level, some hop resins, not much hop quality; midway between old and new style IPA, nice Ale, not as fresh, and not what expected from a Colorado brewery.

From a can. Sweet and floral aroma - somewhat like cherries. Light golden in colour with a frothy white head. Sharp bitter flavour with orange, lemon and apricot notes. Long bitter finish. Good IPA.

Aroma is roasted malts, honey, clove, citrus and passion fruit. Taste is sweet roasted malts, caramel and slight apple to match the well balanced hop profile which finishes with a nice tartiness that is clove and passion fruit. Appearance is a lightly hazy orange with light sediment in suspension.

2015 craft beer advent. Pours cloudy orangey, with moderate-low carbonation. A nice mild hoppiness that isn't harsh on the palate. My kind of ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. (no damn fruity metric used here! Merica! Okay, only joshing...) single can, probably from a Christmas sampler case, served in a pint glass. Pours a moderately hazy orangey-straw hue with streams of fine carbonation, with a smooth white head and copious sudsy lace. Loads of fresh citrus, with prevailing lemon, and a certain grassiness on the nose; likewise on the tongue, with hints of pine. A strong and slightly burny astringency/bitterness. Thin-bodied, clean-finishing. Another good IPA for the list, but needing some clawback on that aforementioned "zing".
