Shaker pint draft at the Brewery tap room in Aspen, Colorado. The pour is a hazed brown with a 1/2 inch light khaki head. The aroma is roast, dark chocolate, and a bit of char. The taste leads with the char mineral, along with pine hop and finishing with slight bitter dark chocolate. The finish shows some chalk in addition to the mineral. The palate is medium bodied with a dry finish. Solid porter. Fatehunter (2561) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Nitro tap at the Aspen Tap Room in downtown Aspen.
A great looking brew with a finger and half of tan cream colored head on a pitch black body.
The aroma is a faint roasted malt.
The taste is all bitter/sweet with a dose of roasted malt. Great balance.
Smooth and creamy texture. Low carbonation and heavy body.
A really enjoyable beer; just a little more on the nose would make it really great. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 13, 2012

Draught at brewery. Black with egg white head (on nitro). Aroma of roasted malts, notes of light coffee and faint caramel. Taste of burnt chocolate and light coffee. A fairly rich porter but also pretty smooth (the nitro certainly helped). DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2009
