2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
(From 2012 notes)
Pours a dark mahogany with a small tan head.
S: sweet hazelnut liqueur and dark roasted malt. Appealing aroma, but perhaps not as a beer.
T: Surprisingly strong and bitter; I think the brewer went overboard in trying to counteract the sweet hazelnut and malt with bittering hops. The hazelnut flavor is still clearly present.
M: too thin
O: a challenging nut brown ale ... I know, I can hardly believe it myself.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Murky brown color. Subtle aroma of peanuts. Taste is like licking a spoonful of Nutella. You wouldn’t think that that works in a beer, but somehow it does. Try it!
