"a little thin for the style, but not too bad. aroma of milk chocolate and day old coffee. not all together a miss but could be better. flavor is good but lacking depth. " daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Dark brown pour, brown head. Dry and roasty, some astringent notes, bitter cocoa nibs, ashy and not really something I would drink again. Thin and underwhelming. marcus (10231) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours dark brown with very little head and a chocolate aroma. There is a hearty chocolate flavor, smooth and not overly sweet, with a dry finish.

22oz bomber pours dark mahogany with tan head of foam. The mild aroma offers up somewhat oxidized earthy malts, faint chocolate and that’s about it. The taste has a flash of the same earthy maltiness that quickly gets over run by dark roasted malts, burnt malts and then a coffee sensation. To midway sweet malty earthiness and a dash of chocolate come to the surface before roasted to burnt malts take over and run this thing into the finish. Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits (Betton) - 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark jet black with an initial frothy khaki colored had that dissipates quickly. Aroma has some very bitter chocolate notes, a hint of creosote. Flavor improves as it warms and presents some cold black coffee, unsweetened bittersweet chocolate, nice roastiness that is really picked up as it warms. Some marshmallow sweetness in the back end adds a bit of contrast. Decently thick mouthfeel. Braudog (6717) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle. Dark, roasted brown color, the head a thin but resilient cauldron of tan foam. The aroma is nice -- reminiscent of roasted nuts and campfires. The beer drinks with a pleasant taste of nutty chocolate, kinda like you’d get from a chocolate-laced granola or something. Quite good. Dark brown, thinnish brown head. Smells like espresso and dark chocolate. Fairly rich body. Taste is more dark chocolate and coffee. Dryish finish. Not great, but not bad, either. If you find yourself in the mood for a tasty, uncomplicated stout, this will hit the spot.
