Draft at Belmont. Pours a very dark brown, basically black, with a good size tight creamy tan head. Lightly sweet, coffee, roasted malt, hints of nut, touch of milk. Chared malt up front, coffee, hints of chocolate, licorice and nuts, a kind of creamy milky finish with plenty of bittering. dchmela (3078) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2011
Collaboration with Fort George brewing. I asked the brewer about this and it was described as a Russian Imperial Oatmeal Black Lager. Pours thick and black with an off white head. Smooth malt, some roast bitterness along with a big hop bitterness in the taste. Roasted grain and hops dominate the aroma. Pretty good brew. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Tap @ Belmont Station... This Ft. George collaboration brew poured near black with a amber highlight towards the bottom of the glass and a khaki head. Nose had some roast. Pretty nice and clean with some subtle yeast tones. The oatmeal created a nice mouthfeel and balanced the rest of the malt roast and sweetness. Ended short with not much lingering in the finish.
