I loved this beer. Not only is it an interesting IPA but the overall front to back flavors in the mouth are not overpowering. Though I thought that it was a high alcohol brew I did not detect it from the taste. beermaker (2) - portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 4, 2006 does not count
Great Beer, I am impressed with the flavor. Not over-powering for an imperial. Nice head with lacing. So good I took a growler with me for later! philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 14, 2010

Portland trip. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a hazy caramel color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was strong sweet pineapple and grapefruit. The flavor was strong and crisp bitter grapefruit that had great oomph and a solid undertone of brown sugary. Long bitter hoppy finish. Fairly full bodied. Excellent. Growler from the brewpub. Outstanding Imperial India Pale Ale. Dry and bitter. Crisp with a bite from start to finish. Citrus grapefruit, caramel and pine flavors. Strong hops throughout. Long bitter finish, a bit harsh with a touch of an alcohol burn. Tasty!

This was listed on the card as an Imperial IPA. It is a really impressive IPA nonetheless. Lots of hoppy citrus flavors, hufe hop aromas, the are fragrant and surround your nose throughout the entire pint. Bold, and masks the alcohol quite well, a very great example of a beer that has fresh hops and a supremely backed up malt character. Nice! On tap. Light amber color, huge hoppy nose. Dry on the palate with mega flavor. This is a refreshing I2 that would be great on a hot day. Sit boo boo, sit. Good bitch. bhensonb (15199) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 9, 2007
Strong hop aroma. Perhaps a combo of floral and pine. Possibly citrus lurks. Really nice smell. Very hazy deep amber color with a white head that quickly filmed. The hop flavor is strong and mixed, at the start. I vote for pine and floral. Light carbonation. Full bodied. Good malt backbone. Dry, bitter finish. Leaves the mouth redolent of pine. Perhaps a bit of citrus sour at the back of the mouth. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - SEP 19, 2008

Wow, this was one fine IPA! Pours an average cheddar orange with an aroma of biting grapefruit and bitter hops. Flavor is sour, mouth-puckering floral hops with a bitter grapefruit finish. Slight hints of pine slip between the cracks as well. Thick and pleasant mouthfeel. Nice surprise; wasn’t really expecting it to be this tasty. Glad to see it’s highly rated by others as well.
On tap at the brewpub, also sampled at the Spring Beer Fest in Portland. Hazy red-orange with an orange-tinted head. Intensely hoppy aroma featuring citrus rind and mango, some coniferous undertones. Earthy toffee malt supports a rich bath of hop character: lots of tropical fruit and resin. Heavy mouthfeel, oily, with an intensely bitter finish. So good!
