4 oz. Taster @ Wet Dog Cafe April 12th, 2010. 7.5% ABV. 75 IBU’s. Formulated with equivalent of 1 Shot of Espresso per pint according to waitress. Bronze red edged dark black color. Rich roasted burnt coffee espresso hop front. Creamy mellow sweet crusty earthy rich burnt coffee mild chocolate body. Smooth dry sweet lingering chocolate end. Big, Rich, and Tasty Espresso Stout. On tap at the brewpub. Black with deep brown highlights and a thick vanilla creamy head. Rich espresso bean aroma, really intense, also some ash. Rich velvety palate with intense dark roasted coffee bean flavour, bitter chocolate, and hints of vanilla. No trace of vegetal unpleasantness than can mar some coffee beers. A phenomenal coffee stout! It probably helps that I had this at peak freshness-- it had just been put on tap for the first time.
