COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

On draft at Bunker's Wharf, Winter Harbor. Pours dark brown with substantial 2 finger creamy head and great lacing... Smells of bread and yeast. Roasted nuts and caramel notes... Not bad... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured as a taster at the brewery. Nice brown ale with a bit of caramel on the palate. Finishes smooth and if quite drinkable. A good session ale and bound to be good with brewpub-style food.

Bottle at home. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium-short retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, and lightly toasted malt, earthy hops and figs. Flavor is malt dominant with light to medium hops and bitterness, a pleasant chocolate note and a dry finish. Medium-light body and medium carbonation.

Enjoyed on tap at Reel Cinema in Bar Harbor, ME while watching the new Star Trek. Appearance dark coffee brown with very thin off white head. Aroma not really of anything, maybe light toffee. Taste is smooth and easy drinking, nice English ale flavor. Overall, enjoyable brew.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark brown with tons of tan head, lots of lacing and nice carbonation. Aroma of nuts, roasted malts and caramel. When it comes to taste it actually feels a bit to watery, caramel sweetness and malts. It’s an OK beer but not great.

Medium brown and clear with a thin beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, roasted nuts, hint of coffee. Roasty flavor but very thin. Hop presence is late but pretty strong when it hits.
