COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

Clear brown. Aroma is malty and roaster. Light bodied with not too much flavor. Malt profile with a good amount of carmel sweetness. Not much going on. Ok.

Brown. Rather still. Nutty sort of flavor nothing extraordinary. Barrell and crow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This ale poured a deep, dark amber colour with a light tan coloured head. Minimal lacing. Scents include molasses, roasted malts and a little wine? First swig was nice. A little thin but nice smooth flavour. Flavours of roasted malts and molasses are most prominent. Finish is nice and toasty with malty goodness lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap into pint. Far too cold. Nutty nose, hazelnut? In the mouth, cold mutes flavors. Vague sense of brown malts. Finishes with a touch of light chocolate.

Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Dark brown body with thin head. Nose is toasty, caramel, dark chocolate. Taste is nice and sweet and malty. Creamy finish. Quite nice and super smooth.

Had this both on draft and in the bottle today and the draft definitely is a little smoother than the bottle. A decent brown; would be much better if it was a little smoother

Brown pour at dogfish in Portland Maine. Brown sugar and burnt leaves - mild and easy drinker. Pretty good

Light & drinkable brown. Has a decent palate but lacking in flavor. Quite mellow & malty. Ok.

The aroma is nut with a touch of sweet caramel. Highly active off white head that starts enormous and is reluctant to come down. The body is rich but clear mahogany. Mild nut and spice taste. Malt character is smooth and clean to finish.

Pours a massive, unstoppable heap of dense off-white foam. Underneath there is some brown liquid, but I can’t quite reach it. Trying harder, i get to the rather bland nutty and metallic flavor - like my first attempt at home-brewing a brown ale so many years ago. Big fan of their coal porter, but this is not quality.
