COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

12 oz bottle bought in Bar Harbor, Maine. Clear dark ruby red pour with a small beige head and decent retention. Light lacing. Crisp mouthfeel. A little thin for a brown ale. Flavor of toasted malt with a light roasted nut finish. Smooth. Simple and enjoyable.

Draft at Route 66 in Bar Harbor. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium-short retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, and lightly toasted malt. Flavor is malt dominant with light to medium hops and bitterness, a pleasant chocolate note and a dry finish. Medium-light body and medium carbonation.

Where and how: big trip East Coast 2017 on tap at Bar Harbor
Aroma good depth, nice darker malts, hint of chocolate and coffee.
Appearance :
Top: lighter tanned cap, defined rings.
Base: brown
Palate : medium thinner body, on softer side. Shorter finish.
Taste: Decent approach, not too heavy or intense. Straight clean brown ale.

I had it from the bottle. The taste was caramel, bread, roasty, and metallic. The metallic aftertaste was strange. It was a decent brown otherwise. It was pretty smooth and easy to drink.

Brown. Rather still. Nutty sort of flavor nothing extraordinary. Barrell and crow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This ale poured a deep, dark amber colour with a light tan coloured head. Minimal lacing. Scents include molasses, roasted malts and a little wine? First swig was nice. A little thin but nice smooth flavour. Flavours of roasted malts and molasses are most prominent. Finish is nice and toasty with malty goodness lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap into pint. Far too cold. Nutty nose, hazelnut? In the mouth, cold mutes flavors. Vague sense of brown malts. Finishes with a touch of light chocolate.

Had this both on draft and in the bottle today and the draft definitely is a little smoother than the bottle. A decent brown; would be much better if it was a little smoother

Brown pour at dogfish in Portland Maine. Brown sugar and burnt leaves - mild and easy drinker. Pretty good
