3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured dark with just a hint of ruby. Small but creamy heas. Nice malty aroma. Good body, clean finish. Roasy with chocolate and malt, without being too sweet. A nice brew.
Pours a dark brown from a bottle, big toasty aroma, sweet caramel taste with a cola aftertaste. A little fizzy. Good beer.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear deep cola with a tan head. Aroma of cocoa. Flavors of leather. Roast finish. Tessic (1157) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 23, 2016
This porter poured a deep black colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. A little lacing. Scents include roasted malts, wine and cocoa. First swig was delicious. Flavours of roasty malts and dark cocoa most prominent. Finish is burnt with minimal bitterness. Fantastic!

Draft at Doubletree Portland. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Fairly roasty on the tongue but not a ton on the nose. Finished with a slight bitterness. Solid for style but not spectacular.

Not as bitter as a typical porter, but it is dark as any porter and tastes like a ’typical’ porter,

Pours basically black with a decent sized khaki head that settles to a thick fine-bubbled ring and film and leaves some walls and spots of lace. Nose involves some mild dark chocolate notes, whiffs of woody and floral hops, cream and sugar. Fairly sweet, somewhat bitter. Lighter bodied, active, a bit oily and slick, finishing somewhat dry with woody, earthy hops. tfontana (1002) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - APR 12, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is vanilla, roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, caramel, but slight methane/port-o-potty smell when returning the nose to the glass. Appearance is dark brown with finger width light brown head with poor retention and trace lacing. Taste is more bitter coffee and cigarette ash than sweet dark fruits and caramel. Palate is medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and bitter ash finish. Overall, something slightly off in the aroma and a bit more ash flavor than I’d care for. Lives up to its name. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Bottle from Perfect Pour. Dark brown cola body with thin tan lasting head. Nose is chocolate, malts, caramel, roasty. Taste is similar of malts and dark chocolate. Nice hoppy and vanilla flavors. Very subdued. Nice beer. mikexc3 (1) - - NOV 9, 2015 does not count
Upon attempting to pour this beer, there was no way to do so without it foaming up like a bomb had gone off. Thinking i had shaken them perhaps on the ride home from the store I tried a 2nd one the next day, same problem. The beer has a metallic smell and taste, I think I got a coffee flavored bottle of cheap malt liquor here. Major ripoff for such a foul taste and bad experience. How did this brewery let this pass? Something way wrong here. Palidor19 (3189) - Brandon, Florida, USA - OCT 7, 2015
A nice mellow porter that has substance but lacks the overall enthusiasm that makes this beef exceptional. Toasty nutty malt with a clean head and easy tasting . A session beer with restrictions.
