This was my absolute favorite option at the Portland Expo festival in 2006. I think it would be a sweet beer to dry hop paripin (2) - - JUN 29, 2013 does not count
Love at first taste. Chocolate mocha start with rich coffee tones and a surprising smooth finish. Good with burger or ribs. apoptosis (1317) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 14, 2003
Like drinking a thick, rich creamy chocolate milk. hmmm....chocolate aroma, chocolate finish, roasted chocolate flavor. I do like this beer! And it also looks really nice too, with a creamy white head. ruggedman (647) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUN 7, 2005
YUM! This smells of molasses and hops. Looks pretty nice in a glass dark brown with a thin white head that turns into a ring quickly. Flavor is where you’ll fall in love, this beer is fantastic. Molasses, chocolate, malt, and a slight hint of hops. Perfect balance for a porter. Great work Atlantic! Mouthfeel is perfect, creamy but not too creamy for a porter. This puppy is the real deal. Makes the anchor porter i had a few days back look like swill. spikee (96) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - FEB 3, 2005
Light malty, cinnamon spiced nose. Pours a dark oak brown with a thin head and perfect lacing. Subtle carbonation that rolls quickly down the throat. Palate is full and complex, with unmistakeable tastes of burnt french roast coffee, chocolate and malt. I really enjoyed this beer!

The beer a deep brown to black, the head gigantean in size, creamy in texture and a beauteous light chocolate in color. The aroma of lightly toasted grains, coffee, and sweet malt make up this treat to the schnozzle, with the start sweet and thickly malt, the top is rich and full in its feel to the palate. Finish is a tad tart, the acidity moderate and the hops delightful in their spiciness and the aftertaste quire dry and lingering.

Best porter I’ve had in a long, long time.
Chocolatey, excellent balance. smaynard6000 (1181) - Apopka, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2008
Pours a very dark almost black color with a dark beige head. Sweet roasty aroma. Has a very rich coffee flavor with nice mouthfeel. This is a very nice porter. yesyouam (1016) - Fairport, New York, USA - JUN 19, 2010
Atlantic Coal Porter is a dim brown-black ale with a thick, dense, creamy head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a dark, roasted coffee aroma. It’s pretty full bodied and smooth. The finish is light, but leaves the teeth a touch gritty. It has a dark, roasted flavor. It’s pretty dry and there is a leafy, bitter finish that lasts a while. It’s a simple, yet reasonably robust, porter. bpreo (2863) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - OCT 12, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2010 Yes, a real Porter, from the East Coast USA. Gonna be in Maine in a couple weeks, better go to the brewery!
