Designed to accompany more robust dishes such as venison, beef and wild boar. It also complements blue cheese exceptionally well. AROMA ripe blabkcurrants with black cherries and light chocolate. PALATE blackcurrant and molasses over full-bodied dark roasted malts. FINISH dry and bitter with slight sourness and dark fruits.

Flanfl (816) - Lyon, FRANCE - OCT 29, 2015
Brown body, no head. Aroma of smoked black tea, light coffee notes. Flavours of smoked tea, light roasted malt notes, light coffee notes. Short light roasted malt finish. Watery body, medium carbo. What a terrible porter. No blackcurrent of molasse, no complexity, it taste like the brewer used not enough grain to brew this!

Benzai (16527) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - FEB 19, 2015
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque murky brown color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, weird, dark overripe fruits, dried fruits even stronger, pretty dry, also plant - like flavors and sourish. Pretty disappointed with this actually.

DutchDrebus (6095) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - FEB 19, 2015
Bottle @ weekly tasting @ home. Very dark brown colour with a snall off-white head. Smells rinse appelstroop, molasses, plum, slightly sourish. Tastes sour, fruit. Not a fan of dark sours. Medium body, soft carbo.

Stuu666 (14563) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 17, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is blackcurrant, taste is too thin but nice and fruity nevertheless.

zacgillbanks (5429) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2014
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Hazy dark red-brown coloured with a sour red fruity flavour, chocolate and dark toffee (molasses) notes with more tartness on the finish.

Ungstrup (38243) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2014
Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of chili, berries, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chili, roasted malt, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

yespr (47041) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2014
33 cl clear bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, chocolate. Fruity, citric, blackcurrant and dark roasted malty. Citric, dark malty and light fruity. Light citric and fruity finish.

marquisalex (167) - Surrey, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2013
Bottle poured into pint glass. Doesn’t seem black, but is still utterly opaque. Sort of red brown. Light tan head, very smooth. Aroma is like a lambic. Red fruit, but not very nice. Like bad jam. Taste is the same but amplified. Sour open, odd sweetish middle and bitter yucky finish. Difficult to pay attention to palate based on the unpleasant flavour, it just grabs you and doesn’t let you pay attention to anything else. I wonder if this is a bad batch, seeing as a lot of people have been ripping it recently...

k0mpsa (3041) - Tuusula, FINLAND - OCT 25, 2013
Bottle from ales by mail. Dark brown color, hint of red. Small light brown head. Aroma is berries, sour notes, lemon. Weird taste, sour notes, berries, lemon notes, lambic notes. Label says porter but this is something else.

Kingi (670) - - OCT 25, 2013
label says porter but this tastes and smells like a blackcurrant lambic, making me a bit hesitant as how to rate this. works as a lambic, not as a porter. sour blackcurrant aroma and taste. spoiled beer?
