Had this on drought in Bar Harbor. I thought it would be a very special beer with alot of complex flavors but instead i tasted a generic amber ale. i wasnt as impressed with this brew as i was with some of the other offerings from atlantic brewing company JohnQPublic (387) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUL 21, 2008
Draught at the brewery. Pours dark amber. Nose is slightly fruiy, a bit peaty, and sweet caramel. Taste is a bit of sweet malt up front, a bit toasty, with a really interesting combination of fruity and peaty noes blending with a hint of floral hops, leading to a definite herbal, almost heather note on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly lightly carbonated, with a medium body. Very interesting brew - almost like taking the malt body of an alt bier and matching it to the peaty and heather notes of a Scottish ale. Quite a success in my opinion. Magjayran (1378) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 3, 2008
Pours an amber color with a thin and bubbly white head. Not dense at all. Lacing is minimal. Green apple aroma with the skin intact. Scent is grainy as well. Flavor is fruity upfront and malty as hell. Sugary sweet at the finish with hints of Werther’s Original. Not incredibly complex but very easy to drink. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JAN 5, 2008
22oz bottle, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete! Pours a slightly hazy, bright golden-amber color; light tan head with patchy lacing. Slightly muddled aroma, showing corn sugar, dried fruits, and some caramel. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: sugar, dried fruits, and a light hop bitterness; a bit too sweet and slightly underattenuated, it seems; sticky sugar and caramel. Medium, sugar and dried fruit finish; lots of sweetness. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 5, 2008
(22oz bottle, thanks wickedpete) Small beige head atop clear dark amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin, some prune, herbal. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin/plum, light alcohol. Medium body, some stickiness, undercarbonated.

Color: amber, brown, hazy, white foam. Aroma: caramel, toast, malty. Flavor: light sweetness, lightly bitter, Palate: medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, slightly bitter finish.

Dark brown with fluffy white head. Weak roasted malty aroma. Caramel maltiness with a twinge of metal in the front, and a light smoky aftertaste. Nice medium body. Overall very enjoyable (and props to the guys at the brewery, who are great). jimhilt (2610) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 24, 2007
Pours a one finger cream head that fades quickly leaving traces of lace. Almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet caramel nose. Flavor is sweet malts with some middle hops and caramel, clean finish. $5.49 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer and Wine Wells, ME. Quevillon (3089) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 21, 2007
Bouteille de 22 oz, procuré à la brasserie (leur boutique). Rousse rubie, petit collet. Arome peut intéressant de malte végétal, note sucré. Goût de malte fruté, un peu sûrette, quelque notes de mélasses peu sucré. Bref, rien d’extraodinaire! mcox90 (2088) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 5, 2007
22 oz bottle. Pours a red gold color with a small white head. The alcohol is well hidden. This one has a bit of a sweet taste, especially as it warmed. Tastes a bit like good chocolate covered cherries. This was a nice smooth ale and I really enjoyed it.
