Bottle at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Pours a clear golden color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy and sweet malts with a grassy finish. The taste is grassy hops, nutty malts and a dry fruity finish. Medium bodied.

Weak corn nose. Clear yellow, thin head. Flavorless. Reminiscent of Coors Light.

(Sample Date: 9/18/2010 Source:Other) 12th Richmond RB gathering. 12 oz bottle courtesy Lloyd. Spicy hops over moderate grainy aroma. Clear light straw with small white head. Lightly grainy flavor with nice supporting spicy hops. Medium to light body and mouth feel. Finish is clean and spicy. Nice.

Sampled at the Richmond Gathering XII. Very pale yellow pour with ring of white head. Clean crisp, saazy. Definitely a decent plisner.

On tap at the GLB. This pours a light yellow amber with a bit of a head. Aroma is german hops, saaz perhaps, at least that’s what I get in the taste. It’s a well crafted local lager, tastes clean and no off flavors.

Nice Saaz hops taste, a pretty drinkable interpretation halfway between an American Pale Lager and a Czech Pils. Enjoyable, I would drink this on tap.

porterhouse (1580) - Boothbay, Maine, USA - MAR 29, 2010
(Draft @ Beale St BBQ) I had this a few weeks ago and at that time thought if might just be an alias, but alas it is new. Rating from no notes and a dim memory...Semi-darkish golden, slightly hazy. Smallish off-white head. Light aroma of pine with some fruit and caramel underneath. Palate is fairly smooth although slightly pebbly. Dryish. Flavor of light caramel and fruit with a light piney bitter snap toward the finish. Not alot of the malt/honey/hay notes I’d expect from a pilsener. Just kind of ho-hum and probably a bit inferior to the Leafpeeper.
