Pretty good little rye ale, peppery and dry with a grainy malt base and plenty of spicy rye on the back end. Earthy malts with a hint of biscuit and caramel add balance to the piney, citric hops, while the bitter finish leads to a rye toast fade. Pours a reddish brown with a thin off-white head and modest lacing. Pine and rye on the nose. Slick, slightly undercarbonated feel is pretty easy to put back. Nice pint. I'd say this is an amber/copper...but a hoppy one...or some kind of hybrid. Has a good rye malt and citrus hops balance going on...not quite an IPA. On the lighter side as far as drinkability, but has some decent strength at 6.2%. One of the first single samples I discovered when moving the DC area. This is a year round beer, so I'm sure I'll be grabbing a 6-pack to try again soon. shadey (2171) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 22, 2017
12oz can. Brown pour with red highlights. Delicious grainy aroma with attractive bitter hops. Well blended and complex flavors of sweet caramel, grain, and bitter citrus hops. Very good. Patrickctenchi (6805) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - SEP 14, 2017
Cloudy amber-brown with a ridiculously giant beige head.
Rye, caramel aroma.
Flavour is rye malt.......slightly peppery.....leafy/hay bitering.
Very nice. OnTheTrail (603) - Virginia, USA - SEP 1, 2017
Pours dark brown, off white head. Aroma is caramel malt, plum, very light pepper, not obviously rye. Taste is slightly sweet, definite bitter hops, a bit more rye, spicy notes. No citrus that I can tell. Finishes sort of snappy bitter. Light to medium mouthfeel.

Can from Total Wine, Fredericksburg. Pours clear brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is pine, rye, light orange. Flavor is toasted rye, clean resin, orange, lemon zest, pine. Quite tasty and clean. Quick3Beers (1505) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 22, 2017
Pours a clear rich brown from a can, off-white head dissipates, minimal lacing. Smells citrusy and piney, a little like cleaning solution. Flavor is a bit of an odd lemon/orange/rye mishmash, rather soapy. The rye is nice and peppery/sour, I just find the hops a little much. Good beer. 12 ounce can from Tavour. The beer is a cleqr dark amber with a white beige head of foam. Good head retention. The aroma is spicy, earthy, and floral. The rye spice kicks in through the taste very well. Medium body and medium to high carbonation. Decent overall. I really enjoy how the rye is captured in this beer. shrubber85 (11706) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUL 13, 2017
Can. Orange, rye malt, and herbal hay aroma. Cloudy brown with moderate head. Mildly sweet orange, rye malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Good body. Solid. weihenweizen (4203) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - JUL 12, 2017
Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass mug. Opaque medium brown with small beige head. Aroma is strong rye, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is spicy rye, some floral hops, and some citrus hops.
