Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a large, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and cookie malt, dates, spicy and earthy hops. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness and a clean lager character with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. slowrunner77 (11911) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 6, 2016
Dark amber pour. Huge rye spice Caremark and bready nose and flavor. Bitterness is there, but the hop flavor and aroma seems quite faded. No date on the can, but seems on the old side. Intriguing enough to seek out on tap one day.

Can at Reagan International Airport. Pours a near clear deep brown with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of rye with light roasted malts and a bit of bitter pine coming through. Flavor is full of rye with some sweet dark grains, a hint of pine and some bread underlying. alexsdad06 (10262) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 25, 2014
Draft at City Tap House. Pours a clear amber color with a large off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bread, caramel, mild citrus, spicy rye notes, a hint of resin, but the finish is a bit soft. 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 5, 2016
The malt is expressed as dark rye bread, seed bread, caramel. Western hops give it a fruit cocktail / maraschino cherry and orange notes along with faint resin and some noble-like pepperiness and nuttiness. Medium bodied, medium to light sweetness with relatively strong bitterness, finishing long and savory and a little juicy. Pretty nice rendition here, ample malt body to support the strong bitterness, and as it warms it gets more aromatic and interesting, developing layers of spiced / nutty hops and peppery phenols.
