At the brewpub. Had a pretty bold grapefruit aroma. Very dark amber color. Was malty enough to cover hops. I like hoppy rubbishystuff (2521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 25, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 At the brewpub. I liked this one, Got the balance pretty spot on. Grapefruity hops with out being too over powering very overall fruitiness to the beer. Serving: Tap Awktoberfest (404) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Not overly sweet which is great and alot of nice hop features. With a little more carbonation this would be a great ipa... They call it a iipa and I guess it's borderline at 8% but good overall beer whatever style u stick it in

Tap flight at the brewpub. Light golden pour with a foamy white head. Juicy tropical fruit nose. Taste is similar with honeydew and casaba Mellon. Not at all astringent and very drinkable. Small in the mouth with Mellon flavors staying behind. Nice.

Tasted on tap at Atlas in Chicago. Hazy golden color with a thick white head. Hopped grapefruit aroma. Citrus flavor that’s hoppy up top.

Double ipa with a richer malt character, spices int eh flavor along with some citrus. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Rich citrus hoppy aroma. Golden amber with a soapy off-white head that leaves a sleeve of lacing down the glass. Full bitter flavor, somewhat thin body. Good solid hop forward IPA.

4oz pour. Poured a medium and clear orangish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of melons, caramel, floral hops, and citrus. Tastes of toasted malts, caramel, citrus and had a lighter grapefruit finish. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Sampler pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). My first stop in saw 10 drafts. This was one. Pours a deep copper hue, darker, nice haze, copper orange glow on the edges. Darker body is almost brown, dulled. Frothy tannish head atop laces ok overall, nice lacing. Looks too dark, but let’s see. Sticks around as a mellow layer. Aromas are richer grapefruit and citrusy hops, florals, grapefruit juice and rind, lemons. Grass, touches of biscuits and bread. More grapefruit. Nice. Initial is firm bitterness, florals and some grapefruit. Very earthy grass and floral bitterness grows firmly, strongly even, going into some toast, dry bready malts. Resiny pine, touches of ABV hit the palate into the middle, with firmer bitterness up front. Middle is sticky and sweet, but a boatload of hops tries to hide it. Shots in the middle feel thick and girthy, toffee and biscuits, bread, toast. Sticky malts get covered up by a bigger resiny hop feel. Backend is dry, lemon and citrusy grapefruit, touches of spice, heat. More earthy quickly as we move on. Florals, grass. A touch of girth. An odd one with a boatload of bitterness up front, tapering into a more palateably, although a lifeless (as far as interesting hops) backend and finish. Touches of heat, bit sticky girth really tries hard to poke through. An odd Double IPA, with promise up front that tapers off. A more interesting and complex hop blend could help this.. Especially if those hops provide richer flavor from said hops into middle and lingering into finish. Overall, this doesn’t. Backend and palate score suffer. Front had a lot to offer, but tapers off quickly.
