Available in cask (described as "Cask Pilsner"), and in bottle ("Highland Pilsner"), this beer is a delicious straw-coloured session beer, dominated by crisp, fresh, citrus hop character from classic German "noble hops".
Brewed with a balance of best British Ale Malt and Lager Malt, this beer exhibits a pale straw colour. The aroma combines a zesty attack and an apricot fruitiness with the subtle floral hop notes of the Styrian Golding, Saaz and Hallertauer Hersbrucker hops.
Moderate levels of residual sweetness are balanced by a crisp, well-rounded bitterness to give a clean, refreshing mouthfeel in the best traditions of pilsners – pint after pint!

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 23.01.2011
Aroma is rather typical to golden ale with hops, grainy malt and hay. Flavour is hoppy with floral notes, some grain and hints of hay. A golden ale with pilsner twist.

500ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki)
7 Clean aromatic citrussy aroma, refreshing and uplifting. A little perfumey, but not in a negative way.
3 Pale amber, tight frothy head, settles to a few scummy patches and a ring. Plenty of lacing.
6 Pleasantly spicy-bitter taste, plenty of citrussy hop, but not unbalanced. Malts are a little thin, but it fits in with the pilsner feel.
3 Crisp refreshing palate, decent carbonation. Finish a bit thin.
12 Does have that ale-like feel to it, but because of th thinness it’s certainly got one foot firmly planted in the lager camp.

Kavu (5248) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 3, 2011
Pours clear golden with a high head. Aroma is malts with a hint of honey. Flavor is malts with some hops in the finish. Decent.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2011 Aroma: Difficult to discern. Clean with faint lemon and grass notes.

Appearance: Light yellow, mild carbonation. Minimal head.

Taste: Refreshing and very drinkable. Not particularly complex.

Palate: Thin body.

Overall: A very moreish pilsner that I will buy again for its clean, refreshing taste. The perfect session beer.

Bottle at home. Light straw colour, very clear with a smallish head that disappears quickly. Sweet aroma of grapefruit and noble hops. Refreshing sweet taste with plenty of citrus notes and a moderately hoppy finish. Decent pilsner.
