COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Available in cask (described as "Cask Pilsner"), and in bottle ("Highland Pilsner"), this beer is a delicious straw-coloured session beer, dominated by crisp, fresh, citrus hop character from classic German "noble hops".
Brewed with a balance of best British Ale Malt and Lager Malt, this beer exhibits a pale straw colour. The aroma combines a zesty attack and an apricot fruitiness with the subtle floral hop notes of the Styrian Golding, Saaz and Hallertauer Hersbrucker hops.
Moderate levels of residual sweetness are balanced by a crisp, well-rounded bitterness to give a clean, refreshing mouthfeel in the best traditions of pilsners – pint after pint!

50cl dark brown bottle, label as pictured. Typical clear yellow golden colour with big, fluffy white head, good retention and plenty of lacing. Surprisingly heavy-bodied for a blonde, with thick mouth feel. No beer for wimps, this. Intense aroma of hops, with a fruity citrusy note. Why can’t Czech pilseners smell like that ... ? Hops feature strongly on the palate, too. There’s a refreshing dry, citrusy note to this beer that almost makes it appear a cross between lager and IPA styles. Medium bitterness, increasing as you’re downing the beer - with a mildly bitter, but very dry, straw-like finish and after taste. This should be a supremely sessionable pilsener, straightforward but characterful, and there’s no skunkiness here anywhere. Most agreeable.

Bottle. Flying Scotsman Gothenburg. Hazy yellow colour with a white head. Lightly malty, fruitiness, citrus, grass, a little buttery. Light bodied.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a creamy, finger thick head. Citrusy, fruity hops with grapefruit does most of the aroma work, but some pale malts pushes from behind. It’s dry and grassy in the mouth, with citrusy hops on a malty background, producing a fine bitterness. Medium body and a bitter finsh. A nice and quenching beer that won’t raise eyebrows on a beer geek, but might surprise a lager guy. 090724

50 cl bottle shared with Roger and Atle. Bought at Vaaland, Bryne. Is is lager or ale? Well, it has a golden color and a nice and lasting white head. Aroma is malty with some fruity/floral hops. The flavor is malt, fine hops, a bit fruit and a moderate bitterness, Not much carbonation. Tasty and fine beer - pilsner or not...

KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 4, 2009
Bottle from Centra. Deep gold beer. Full malty depth, grains and cereals. Liberal use of hops, giving grass and flowers - the whole sumemr meadow. A lovely little beer that can stand up with the best pilseners from most countries.

larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 18, 2009
Big offwhite lasting head. Yellow body. Strong fruity floral resiny aroma, very harmonic and balanced. Dry-sweetish fruity floral resiny taste, again with impressive harmony and balance. Smooth, mild mouthfeel. Dry, almost bitter, aftertaste of the same with more emphasis on the resin. Some malts, straw, and grass, too. Excellent! Full of flavour and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

Sigmund (7458) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 13, 2009
500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 3.9%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, big and lasting white head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of Styrian Goldings (+ Saazer and Hallertauer Hersbrücker) hops, citrussy and floral notes. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is more like a golden ale than the "pilsner" it claims to be - which is not a bad thing for me. Distinct hops throughout, balanced by just the right sweetness. Some fruit and a lovely bitterness, lasting through the long aftertaste. A nice little beer this one.
