4oz pour. Appearance is reddish-brown color with medium, off-white head. Aroma is fruity, sweet, caramel, and pine. Taste is sweet with flavors of sour fruit, caramel, some pine hops. Strong bitterness for a red ale. Palate is medium bodied, very smooth texture, average carbonation, and a dry finish. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 11, 2012
Draft at Atlas. Pours nearly black with a tan head. Nose is oaky. Vanilla is powerful here, spicy oak and some dark fruit and cocoa. Soft esters as well. On tasting, it is quite clean. Fruity with some roast in the back end. Big oak character and boozy. Hits you with a blast of dark fruit, booze & tannins. Almost puckering finish. Very strongly flavored overall and not really my favorite flavors. Okay but too in your face. Lacks subtlety. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2012
