12 oz. Bottled Aug 12. Darkish copper with a ring of bubbles that tries to last. Nose is molasses and malt extract. Taste is malt extract, tin, and a touch of spicy dry grass on the finish. Near-medium body is sweet and has medium carbonation.

Shag (3001) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - OCT 1, 2012
A copper color with a beige head. The aroma contains some caramel, corn, and spices. The flavor is rather dull with a slight malty presence. This tastes more like Michelob Amber Bock or Shiner Bock than an o-fest. The finish is somewhat dry. Overall not very good.

Deep amber color with an offwhite head. Rich malty flavor profile with a pleasant caramel note.

Bottle. Sweet barley malt aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Slightly sweet barley malt and mildly bitter herbal hops. Nice body. Very nice - could easily drink a couple Maß of this.

Jabic (588) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Ar: Grainy sweetness, grassy and lightly toasted caramel. Ap: Dark amber, small off-white head with poor retention and a bit of lacing. T: Sweet toasted malt, clean - deep and rich, slightly burnt caramel - medium-low bitterness, no hop flavor - sweet through to the finish. P: Medium body with medium-high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Solid octoberfest - caramel sweetness is a bit too prominent, but not over the top.

Not the greatest american oktoberfest, but no diacetyl so that automatically pus it higher than a few others.

Amber color with modest head and thin body. Faint sweet carmel aroma and taste. Nothing special.

Poured a copper color with a quick dissipating head. Aroma of slight caramel and crisp hops. Light sweetness, light bitter. Slick texture and thinner taste, but pretty smooth and crisp. Softer on the carbonation. Not a bad rendition, but not my favorite. A nice mild bitter bite at end.
