It is probably because this is my favorite style of beer and my favorite brewery, but this is my favorite beer I have ever had. It really is nothing fancy but works for me. To me its a a pretty flat beer with caramel and strong toasted flavors being the leaders. If you love this style definitely give this one a shot. deline7 (13) - Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2007
Delicate malt aroma. Wonderful malt flavor and crispness. Malt flavor lingers on the tongue a bit. Slight nutty flavor as well. Carbonation was nice and mild. Served from a keg in my basement. tomaroth (31) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JAN 20, 2008
Not a bad beer. I usually expect more spice in Octoberfest beers. I was pleased that it wasn’t that ovberspiced Octoberfest beers out there. Had it at Atwater. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - AUG 6, 2009
Pours red with an orange tinge. Very clear and glassy, like half of the pair of 3-D glasses. Nice bishop’s collar at the top of the glass.
Earthy and gritty malt aroma, but with a very sweet candy-like aroma. Butterscotch. Nicely balanced with the shredded tobacco and dirt/soil. Really good.
A mix of sweet butterscotch and sweet caramel. Some strong yeast. The sweetness dominates, but the earthy malt is a great, gritty balance. Does the job for sure.
Smooth, buttery feel and oily too. A sweet (but not too sweet) Oktoberfest. Very drinkable and flavorful. PKegger (3) - Michigan, USA - SEP 26, 2006 does not count
I was suprized to try this old favorite. Usally when brewers try to recreate the past it never comes out just right. However I was very impressed with this recreation. Rich, smooth and full of well balanced malty goodness.

This probably tops my list of favorite octoberfest style beers I’ve tried yet. Dark orange color, thick malted flavors / aromas. Caramel, syrupy, nutty, brown sugar...? Great spiced hops....
The only thing against a 6 pack of this is the inconsistent carbonation between each bottle. Two of the six I had were drastically over-carbonated with priming sugars, and one of the six was very flat, under carbonated. I guess it shows they’re hand-crafted...which is good. wheelz843 (234) - Grand Island, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2008
bottle. not much aroma. faint hint of hops.pours dark amber with a thick head. has a roasted carmel flavor with a bit of a coffee taste at the end. very good. jaymobrown (1845) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Very nice. Poured a copper color, maybe a medium tan color. Good head. A bit off white. Nose strong of caramel, biscuit and hops. Sweet with a long finish. Rich caramel, sugar, malt, grain, rye flavors. Nice pick up for pumpkin carving. shrubber85 (11710) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Bottle. Sweet barley malt aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Slightly sweet barley malt and mildly bitter herbal hops. Nice body. Very nice - could easily drink a couple Maß of this. ttutony (952) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Deep amber color with an offwhite head. Rich malty flavor profile with a pleasant caramel note.
