12 oz bottle from The Beerhive in Pittsburgh. For a stout, many elements are missing that one would expect from a heavier beverage. A thin body and almost no taste or aroma of cherry leaves this drinker disappointed. Was hoping for more but was left unsatisfied. PGHbeer77 (571) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 17, 2012
Bottle. Mediocre. Not as thick bodied as I'd like from a stout. The appearance was decent, a typical black pour. The scent was lacking, very faint cherry. The taste was a strong cherry up front, tart not sweet, followed by a roasty malt stout flavor.

Has a black color. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is also mild, a touch of cherry, roasted malts. Overall a mediocre beer. alobar (3793) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 25, 2012

Dark roasty malt with a bit of coffee, chocolate, and cherry. Not overpowering in the fruit flavor, but it is there. Better than I was expecting, not a bad stout.

Bottle. Marked Dec 11. Poured into a tulip glass a dark brown color with some reddish highlights. Light tan head. For being a cherry stout the cherry aroma is pretty subdued. Some light roast notes and a tinge of dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel. Slight cherry start with both a sweet and a tart component that then transitions to a building level of roast flavor culiminating in a slightly bitter, burnt flavor that lingers. No real evidence of the abv. I took a shot on this one and while it isn’t terrible, to me it isn’t that good either. I’d like to see more cherry and a hevier mouthfeel. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - DEC 15, 2011
12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with mikem409. Pours very dark brown, just about black, with a thin tan head that faded to a ring before the second sip and left light lace. Weak aroma of sour cherry and lightly roasted malt. The flavor is similar although the cherry is more noticeable in the flavor than in the aroma. Medium bodied. So so. mcox90 (2088) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 11, 2011
12 oz bottle from the Atwater Holiday Pack. Pours dark brown/almost black with burgundy edges. A vigorous pour only netted a thin beige cap. Aroma is sour cherries and roasted malt. Flavor is artificial cherry flavoring with malt. Thin palate for a stout. Low carbonation. unclemike (3124) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Poured reddish black color with an average off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate cherry roasted malt a/roma. Medium tart cherry malt and coffee flavor and tart cherry finish of moderate duration. Loved it bigguns22 (798) - Maryland, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Dark brown in color with a full tan head filled with tight small bubbles.Light aroma full of malts, caramel and sour cherry. This is a ok beer that is very unquie and worth a try but could be much better if it was a little thicker.
