Hazy orange pour with a white head. Really solventy and soapy aroma, kind of like dish detergent. Grass, pine, and a little bit vegetal. Some sweet caramel, maybe a hint of grapefruit. The flavor is very astringent, bitter, and soapy. Pine and grass, some vegetal notes, and minimal citrus peel. Sweet caramel malt serves as the base. Rather muddle of hops, with some orange. OK drinkability. Orange colour with lasting head. DocLock (10689) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bottle. Pours chill hazy deep copper orangy with 2-finger creamy well-retained head. Nose is nice; orange marmalade, black pepper, tropical citrus, and caramel malt. Tastes very hoppy, resiny, piney, with a big fresh ground pepper, tangerine, and pineapple mid-palate, and a bitter hoppy finish. Perhaps a bit malt light, but the hops just kick ass in this. UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle. Lots of hate for this beer based on some of the ratings, but I don’t really get that. Murky orange pour with a smaller white head. Aroma is pine resin and citrus, with caramel malt in the background. Taste is a nice sharp bitter hop profile well balanced by the malt. Bold and interesting - solid beer.
