COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Holding true to the Northern English tradition, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale has at its foundation a nutty profile with a round mouthfeel. added is a Chocolate Extract consisting of three blended chocolates of varied depth. The result is a rich, but not overtly sweet, experience for both the beer and the chocolate enthusiast.

On nitro at Opal Divine’s pours thick black with a creamy tan head that lasts. Sweet vanilla aroma. Flavor is pure chocolate. Good medium bodied feel on nitro.

Deep dark pour, thin creamy brown head. Rich chocolate aroma, medium body, Does not resemble dark chocolate but the cocoa is present. Mild hopped finish.

Pours black with creamy off white head dissipates to about 1/8 inch. Slight lacing. Aroma is hot fudge sundae complete with whipped cream. This aroma seems artificial. Taste is like a thin bodied, smooth oatmeal stout mixed with Hershey’s syrup. Not bad, but doesn’t seem artfully constructed. I don’t know, maybe I’m being too harsh.

Opaque black with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some cocoa, dark fruits. Taste of bitter roast, cocoa, on the thinner side.

Aroma is very malty with a pleasant but maybe fake chocolate/vanilla smell. Pours gorgeous with a large head that lasts a little while (but not long enough to leave lacing). Flavor surprisingly lacks much. Very watery and a little bitter at first, with notes of coffee, chocolate, and whipped cream on the back end. Aftertaste is actually much better than the initial flavor. Brew is too thin - they should thicken it up and increase the flavor a bit. This has so much potential but falls short.

Dark chocolate in color with a small fast fading head that smells strong with chocolate. Taste is chocolate candy and it goes well with ice cream and other desert items that beer normally will not. Thin body, was expecting it to be thicker and more decadent.

Instant Hershey chocolate smell right from the start. The taste of chocolate is definitely there, way beyond a hint of chocolate. Almost too much chocolate. Overall not bad, but if you don’t like chocolate, skip this one.
