Holding true to the Northern English tradition, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale has at its foundation a nutty profile with a round mouthfeel. added is a Chocolate Extract consisting of three blended chocolates of varied depth. The result is a rich, but not overtly sweet, experience for both the beer and the chocolate enthusiast.

Big thanks to Adam for gifting me this and other Michigan beers. the beer is near black (the lighting was low) with a small tan head. This beer is all about the chocolate. The scent and the flavor are rich, dark, chocolates. A hint of espresso bean, cocoa. medium bodied with a light sweetness. perhaps I was in a chocolate mood. This was delicious.

Smells like pancakes at ihop. Looks black with a weak head. Smells like chocolate and tastes like milk. These milk stouts are really wearing thin on the beer scene.

From bottle. Chocolate malted aroma, very sweet and almost fake. A little bit of maple syrup. Dark brown-black clear with thin head. Medium body and carbonation. Starts sweet with chocolate malted flavors. Nutty sweet throughout with carbonic bite. Light bitter finish.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. This had some potential until I discovered it was classified as a stout. I knew it was going to be rough just based on the thin pour. The poor is very dark, on the verge of a light black. There is a thin off-white head that fades to nothing rather quickly, and no lace to be found. The aroma is all chocolate. You could smell this thing from across the room. There is a hint of coffee toward the back end, but chocolate dominates everything. The flavor is all chocolate again, but fails when compared to the aroma. No coffee this time around, all chocolate, and it's very light. The mouth feel is extraordinarily then for something that is supposed to be classified a stout. Water may even have a tad more viscosity. The aftertaste is nonexistent, and this is just very disappointing as classified a stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A sweet chocolate and coffee aroma. Dark brown pour with almost no head. Chocolate taste that is very, very thin. Wouldnt drink again.

From draught @Camba Tap House, Mnchen 02/2014. Aroma to be had from more than arms length: deep confectionery dark chocolate that I would love to learn is all roasted dark malts, but more probably due to a generous injection of same from a pancake house-style chocolate syrup bottle. Reminiscent of Youngs Double Chocolate Stout, but more Overwhelming liquid cocoa gives way to some roast, minimal supporting coffee notes and minimal hop presence before giving way to a quick finish on a thin palate.

I had this from a bottle, poured into a standard glass. Thoroughly enjoyed the aroma, a nice dark chocolate and almost caramel or coffee hint. Very dark black in color, with a minimal head. medium body, creamy, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish from this one. I enjoyed this, but I definitely prefer their Vanilla Java porter to this one!
