Holding true to the Northern English tradition, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale has at its foundation a nutty profile with a round mouthfeel. added is a Chocolate Extract consisting of three blended chocolates of varied depth. The result is a rich, but not overtly sweet, experience for both the beer and the chocolate enthusiast.

This beer was horrible. It tasted like someone took a stout and poured a bottle of Hershey’s syrup in it -- all I could taste was syrup. It lacked carbonation and was not in anyway enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent reddish brown color. Large pillowy light tan head. Sweet toasted malt aroma is redolent of milk chocolate. Slightly sweet cocoa flavor upfront. Roasted malt, cashews, toasted bread and chocolate wafers follow. Spicy notes in middle. Sticky malt finish. Medium bodied, yet only average complexity.

Bottle. Has an intense cocoa milk chocolate aroma. Taste is a slightly creamy chocolate with some light roast malts

oobawa (1301) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 16, 2017
Nice pour, but the texture is surprisingly thin, in dire need of some thickness and more carbonation. Smells like a big glass o’ chocolate, though, which is a plus. Taste...needs help, artificial cocoa flavor on top of a yeasty English brown ale, not sweet but false, with a really unpleasant tartness on the back end. Not good.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Very chocolatey aroma. Taste is dark chocolate, dark malts, nuts, vanilla notes, sugary. Very sweet and chocolatey. Almost like chocolate milk or a chocolate shake - well, a very thin chocolate shake. Probably the most chocolatey beer I’ve had, but overall, it’s too sweet and sugary.

darbeer75 (887) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - FEB 22, 2017
Aroma: very nutty and chocolaty; Appearance: very dark amber, clear, with thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly; Taste: follows nose but with an odd, slightly chemical taste; Palate: heavy body with long, odd finish; Overall: drinkable but would not get again.

Draft to taster at Cincy beerfest 2017 pour opaque black with thin tan head. Nose powdery chocolate, light nut, chocolate. Taste similar to nose, powdery and milk chocolate, light nut, some graham cracker. Light but late. Overly sweet.

AWISLguy (3046) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 16, 2016
12oz bottle from Ridgeview in Green Bay. Cocoa powder, light caramel. Thin. Much more a thin-ish dunkel than anything else. Sweet, lighter than medium bodied. Shrug? 13.3

Bottle. Pretty much opaque dark brown color tan head solid lacing. Burnt chocolate aroma. Taste is lightly earthy cocoa and coffee powder. Light body. Tasty.

tnkw01 (1753) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 23, 2016
Bottle. Deep, dark in color. If your a chocolate lover, you would love this beer. Aroma is heavily roasted grains and chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate without much sweetness.

ordybill (1738) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - OCT 11, 2016
Poured from the tap into a mug at Taco Mac in Smyrna, GA. The beer has a great dark black color with a small tan head. The taste is an incredible chocolate flavor.
