UPDATED: DEC 1, 2017 Draft to taster at Cincy beerfest (also from a bottle) from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, powdery cocoa, light nutty character, thin, ok. gopherfan99 (2012) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 11, 2017
Bottle; pour black with a thin tan head; big chocolate aroma with some malt hints; taste is sweet with chocolate and a touch of lightly roasted malt; finish is dry and chocolaty; okay overall but I felt this was a little thin and watery for how I like porters Bebum (1098) - Massachusetts, USA - AUG 7, 2017
Clear, dark brown, tall, creamy head.
Expansive chocolate nose which wrongly suggests a rich mouthfeel.
Medium body, pronounced flavor, lean texture, dilute and skeletical mouthfeel, low heat, abundant carbonation, long and tasty aftertaste.
Dry, just right bitterness and acidity.
Wonderful and assertive chocolate flavors, balanced by right hop bitterness but let down by poverty of texture and sweetness. Maybe adding heavy cream and sugar would make an interesting drink...

Black color with a small head. Strong milk chocolate aroma with a strong hit of lactose. Sweet chocolate flavor. A bit of maple syrup. Light roasted barley. Finishes sweet. gripweed57 (2912) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - APR 18, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Translucent reddish brown color. Large pillowy light tan head. Sweet toasted malt aroma is redolent of milk chocolate. Slightly sweet cocoa flavor upfront. Roasted malt, cashews, toasted bread and chocolate wafers follow. Spicy notes in middle. Sticky malt finish. Medium bodied, yet only average complexity.

Bottle. Has an intense cocoa milk chocolate aroma. Taste is a slightly creamy chocolate with some light roast malts oobawa (1795) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 16, 2017
Nice pour, but the texture is surprisingly thin, in dire need of some thickness and more carbonation. Smells like a big glass o’ chocolate, though, which is a plus. Taste...needs help, artificial cocoa flavor on top of a yeasty English brown ale, not sweet but false, with a really unpleasant tartness on the back end. Not good.
