3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The pour was murky and almost black in color with a large (2-3 finger) light brown creamy head that had decent retention, reducing slowly to a thin cap with some good streaky lacing.
The aroma was a lot like french vanilla coffee with some roasted chocolate malts and a sweet yeast and had notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and dark roasted coffee.
The taste was lightly sweet and a bit bitter with hints of vanilla and dark chocolate from the onset with the finish having a more pronounced bitter coffee taste. The flavor hung around for an average duration after the swallow and had a mild bitter sweet coffee ending.
Mouthfeel was a few shades above medium in body and a tad oily in texture with a good strong carbonation.
Overall a Coffee Porter that has a lot more vanilla in the aroma than in the taste, but all in all it was a nice smooth tasty brew...
B-. Pours a black color with khaki head. Good vanilla, but after taste is lacking alobar (3786) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2017
Cola brown pour with minimal tan head. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malt, and some chocolate. Prominant vanilla flavor with some roasted malt. Okay. Bebum (993) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 4, 2017
Dark brown, clear, tall, lasting brown head. Intense chocolate, coffee aroma. Full body, aggressive flavor, lean but smooth mouthfeel with low heat and carbonation, lingering and tasty aftertaste. Bitter, very dry, briefly appearing to be sweet. Aggressive roast character, ashy, tastes like roast barley. Beautiful flavors of quality coffee and chocolate, vanilla in the background, obviously added flavors. Even if not very subtle, a great experience. Just wish for a little sweetness, but after all it’s not a stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone drsordr (2659) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2017

Pours a very opaque black in the glass. Great tasting coffee mocha flavor with a hint of dried fruit and nuts almost like a Chunky bar. Coffee liqueur aroma with a hint of Oreo cookies. Overall, a great tasting beer for the cool weather.

Bottle at BrewMaster’s Craft Beer Festival. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, vanilla bean, cocoa. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, light dry finish, good. Wallaby501 (72) - - JAN 8, 2017
Bottle to glass. Big coffee aroma. Dark, decently thick pour with a nice tan head. Taste is somewhat astringent. Coffee and vanilla are both there but kind of overpowered by that. Nice roasted malts round out the body. Palate is appropriate for the style. Overall just too astringent (probably due to how they incorporated the coffee beans.) jflopsu (1614) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 2, 2017
Pours a dark brown with tan head. A vanilla, chocolate, and roasted malt aroma. A vanilla taste with chocolate, roasted malts and heavy delayed carbonation. A malt and grain aftertaste - heavy with carbonation. ordybill (1758) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - DEC 12, 2016
