Bottle from Party Town. Poured a clear brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate sweet toasted malt aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Medium toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of average duration. Solid brew. crossovert (14133) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 2, 2014
355ml bottle. Burnt amber pour. Aroma is caramel malts and bread. Flavor is jsut hitting hte spot for me right now. It has the body of a much lesser beer but a nice sweetness that has you coming back for more. Not a typical doppelbock but I have had comparitive brews but this is better. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 7, 2010
12oz bottle. Small tan head atop crystal clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, molasses, some chocolate, light raisin, anise. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, earthy/grass, some chocolate, orange, raisin. Medium body, light resin. A bit more bitter than I expect for a doppelbock, but tastes ok. hopdog (13258) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2007
12oz bottle. Poured a darker reddish color witha larger sized off white head. Lacing left on the glass Aromas of nuts, brown sugar, caramel, and fruity. Tastes of caramel, bread, and nuts. Tastes a little on the thin side and did not live up to the aroma. Alcohol well hidden. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 3, 2013
On tap at Slows in Detroit. Decent bock, dark with a thick head. A tad astringent in the finish.

Bottle. Murky reddish brown pour with a minimal head. Toffee sweetness, not a ton of body, maybe a little chocolatey. So so. DocLock (11189) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2007
Bottle from Capone’s. Deep ruby pour with 1-finger khaki head. Aroma of roasty caramel malt, cabernet, funky earthy yeast, mild berries, nuts, and brown sugar. Tastes malty, with notes of cherry, nutmeg, figs, almonds, and some funky and spicy notes late. Stays a bit tart, and could use a bit more balance, but this one isn’t bad. jercraigs (11087) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2014
2014-01-25. Brown body small off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and the flavour is similar, lightly tangy earthy malt, mild caramel notes throughout. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Bottle shared by DuctTape phaleslu (10899) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 9, 2011
12 oz. bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Pours a deep brown-copper color with a two-finger thick tan head. Aroma of earth, berries, leaves, nuts, and corn syrup. Flavor of brown sugar, caramel malts, earth, wet leaves, winter spices, and a super toasty, brown sugary finish. Medium-bodied, with an earthy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. That toasty, sugary finish was my favorite part. Without it this would be less interesting.
