HogTownHarry (7287) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - AUG 10, 2010
From February 2010 tasting with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. 750ml plastic corked & caged bottle shared by blankboy. Cloudy orange with an average frothy white head (4-). Simple aroma - somewhat sweet malt backing with reasonably strong and bitter floral hoppiness up front. The taste was juicy and floral, but lacked a firm bitterness and seemd a touch wan - not much alcohol. While it had a nice thick body and acceptable carbonation, spiciness and astringency, it seemed a bit lacking in motivation - a nice drinker, but we need to step up our game if we’re going to self-identify as "IPA" guys.

Solid Pale Ale, nothing terribly spectacular about this beer. It’s a really good IPA, I would have it anytime but it doesn’t stand out compared to the top of the styles. Good hop, good balance, nice dry bitterness.

My bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy along with caramel malt. Malty flavour with along with some fruit and a decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, one of the better offerings from Au Maître Brasseur.

garthicus (2968) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 2, 2010
Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Cloudy brown/amber with a small white head. Aroma: Bran, malt, cardboard, yeast and a little wood. Flavour: Uggh, like a big glass of bran & corn mixed with caramel and yeast. Just not great at all.

jercraigs (11166) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2009
2009-11-27. Very hazy orange body with a modest off-white head. Odd aroma, lemony character, light green vegetation notes. 6+ Flavour has a similar leafy vegetation profile and modest bitterness throughout. Average palate. Meh, not for me. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

mabel (10011) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2009
[2609-20091127] 750mL bottle. Nice yeast aroma, hints of chlorine. Hazy, light brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Corn yeasty saison flavour has a little wheat grain. Medium body. Interesting from this brewery, a nice surprise.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2009 750mL bottle from Marche Jovi in Gatineau. Really cool lime green label is what made it stand out. Pours a hazy, dark golden with a huge off-white head. Dark floaties in there as well. The aroma is just what I expected, nice grapefruity hops met with sweet munich (?) malts and Quebecois yeast. Flavour is very sweet upfront with some nice maltyness, then met with a semi-sharp resiny hop bite, and some yeasty dryness in the finish. Has that characteristic Quebec flavour aspect to it. Very nice and super drinkable, though it may seem a little sweet to serious hop heads. I have no idea how old this bottle is, so it may not be very fresh which means the hops have faded (which seems to be the case), but it’s well priced and well worth it.

wonderful aroma and flavor of orange zest, citrucy, and floral hops, with some slight pine notes. Overall a nice IPA, not overly bitter, but just enough, the hops are super juicy, and quite refreshing.

Bouteille 750ml.
