jercraigs (11166) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2009
2009-11-27. Very hazy orange body with a modest off-white head. Odd aroma, lemony character, light green vegetation notes. 6+ Flavour has a similar leafy vegetation profile and modest bitterness throughout. Average palate. Meh, not for me. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

mabel (10011) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2009
[2609-20091127] 750mL bottle. Nice yeast aroma, hints of chlorine. Hazy, light brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Corn yeasty saison flavour has a little wheat grain. Medium body. Interesting from this brewery, a nice surprise.

(Rating #2215)

My bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy along with caramel malt. Malty flavour with along with some fruit and a decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, one of the better offerings from Au Maître Brasseur.

HogTownHarry (7287) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - AUG 10, 2010
From February 2010 tasting with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. 750ml plastic corked & caged bottle shared by blankboy. Cloudy orange with an average frothy white head (4-). Simple aroma - somewhat sweet malt backing with reasonably strong and bitter floral hoppiness up front. The taste was juicy and floral, but lacked a firm bitterness and seemd a touch wan - not much alcohol. While it had a nice thick body and acceptable carbonation, spiciness and astringency, it seemed a bit lacking in motivation - a nice drinker, but we need to step up our game if we’re going to self-identify as "IPA" guys.

Boutip (6669) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 8, 2008
Bottle: Poured a light brown color ale with a medium foamy head with limited retention and consequently no lacing. Aroma of very light citrus hops is a big letdown. Taste is a mix between a weird grainy malt profiles with some very light citrus hops. I am not the most enthusiastic hophead out there but I would expect at least some bitterness notes in an IPA which I am not getting here. Average body with low carbonation.

wonderful aroma and flavor of orange zest, citrucy, and floral hops, with some slight pine notes. Overall a nice IPA, not overly bitter, but just enough, the hops are super juicy, and quite refreshing.

rodenbach99 (4571) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 21, 2008
bouteille brune de 750ml bouchon de plastique, bière cuivrée trouble, nez fruité, citronné, bouche piquante amère, agréble

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2009
750 ml bottle from Marche Jovi, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JA23/09.

App.: Slightly hazy amber with a big light tan foam. Aroma: Big funky malts, lots of jammy, fruity C-hops, quite fruity actually, deep bread crust and some slightly darker malts, peppery, Palate: Medium+ body, fair effervescence. Flav.: Lots of sticky malts, more of the marmalade C-hops, fairly fruity, a bit peppery; sweet with good bitterness and lingering malts.

Fairly straight forward, nothing revolutionary.

Solid Pale Ale, nothing terribly spectacular about this beer. It’s a really good IPA, I would have it anytime but it doesn’t stand out compared to the top of the styles. Good hop, good balance, nice dry bitterness.
