COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the classic American pilsner style, our popular pils is a tribute to the pre-prohibition lagers developed and brewed by immigrant German brewmasters as they settled in the United States in the 1800s. This is a medium-bodied straw colored pilsner with an elegant hop bitterness and lingering aroma.

Thin head on a clear, golden colored body. A few bubbles coming up and good lacing. It has a faint lemon smell. The taste is moderate bitterness throughout with a sweet finish. Nice profile. Crisp texture, moderate carbonation and medium body. A tasty lager and good too.

Beautiful light gold with a nice white head. Aroma is herbal. Flavor is lightly malty with a low bitterness and an interesting herbal/floral contribution from the hops. Seems more like a Munich Helles and does not have the bright bitterness of a North German Pils. I like it a lot.

Very clear green hued straw color. Nice rocky white foam. Light lemon citrus, herbal, floral and rindy bitterness. Aroma volume is low to low-medium. Wet and minerally. Perfectly fine pils.

On tap @ Auburn Alehouse. Clear golden pour with a white head. Kind of citrusy and a little bit on the lemony/tangy side. Maybe a bit skunky? Pretty grassy as well. The flavor is a touch bitter, but I guess that’s appropriate. A lot of grass, lemon peel, and straw. Too much apple peel for me, though.

On at @ AA This is the way a pilsner should taste. Clean, crisp malt flavor mingling with peppery, grassy hops with just a twinge of sourdough-like tartness in there. My mouth is watering for another one. Great brew.

"actually pretty good for a pilsner, but pales (no pun intended) compared to Auburn’s BIG ales. Pleasing aroma, crisp and refreshing, but nothing that stands out."

Draft at the brewpub. Very clear, very light yellow. Light grassy hops in the nose. Medium bitterness with a light rassy hop and hay flavor. Not too bad I guess. Would like more hops in the flavor.

Tap at the brewhouse. Decent representation of the style, bit more forward in the hop department, which is nice.

On tap at SF Beer Week Opening Gala. Pour is straw yellow with a small white head. Aroma is of grains, yeast, and grass. Flavor is mellow with notes of earth, grass, and straw. Very malty finish.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Light aroma of something. Med minus body. Flavor is enough grassy/spicy hop to hide most of the breadinesss. Bitter is decent and grows into the finish. Better than many "pils".

2.2
Masterkush7 (580) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2013
on tap at auburn alehouse. Golden beer with a whitish head. Malt, grass, and mineral aroma. Malt, grass, and light spice flavor. medium bodied. Grass lingers with spice and malt. Nice hop flavor.
