Tangy fruit and pine forward nose, though plenty malty. Body and flavor are sticky, malty and bitter. This is what a hoppy red should be. Lingering bitter aftertaste.

brokensail (16648) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 10, 2015
On tap @ Auburn Alehouse. Clear amber pour with a white head. Juicy berry like hop nose. Tangy citrus, sweet peach, and some caramel. There’s a big time herbal and piney hop note to the flavor. Lots of peach, citrus, and caramel as well. Not typically a style I love, but pretty decent.

Tap at Final Gravity in Roseville, CA. Pours darkly ruddy with a beige/tan head. Aroma of roast malt and pine. Med + body. Flavor is roasty malt with a chocolate note. Pine for hop. Some of it could well be citrus. Good dose of hop. Finishes not too dry, but nicely hoppy.

skoisirius (1908) - Earth, Washington, USA - AUG 24, 2014
Second year Auburn has done this in the summer. Big and thick, piney and resinous Red IPA here. Lot of forward deep fruit on the malt tip up front. Pine, resin, dirt hop in the back. Chew on it!

Glowing hazy red. Nice piny bitter smells. Big hoppy front and bitter but blends and fades to a balanced finish.

Fatehunter (2615) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 24, 2014
Pours one finger of clear dark straw colored body. The aroma is all pine. The taste is an excellent marriage of sweet malt and pine/lemon bitterness. The texture is thicker with moderate carbonation. It’s bold and nice.

3.9
marcus (10682) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 10, 2013
On tap at Capitol Beer. Pours reddish brown with a nice beige head and a smoky aroma. There is a full-bodied smoked malt flavor that starts sweet then goes to tasty bitter. A nice brew.
