On tap @ Auburn Alehouse. Black in color with a khaki head. Roasted malt and coffee grounds for the most part on the nose. Somewhat salty? There’s a lot of bitter roast and coffee to it, too. Mild ash/tar. A decent hoppiness and chocolate note as well. jackfrost9p (338) - California, USA - DEC 7, 2014
Smooth and creamy. Not overly flavorful. Pretty good and I would get it again. daniele (9778) - ITALY - NOV 22, 2014

"just a touch on the thin side, but it is on nitro, so i’ll cut it a little slack. the flavor is big enough for it, though. very nice chocolate/coffee/roasted malt flavor, smooth but thin body, lingering aftertaste slightly bittersweet." Homer321 (5202) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 22, 2014
Strong coffee and roast in the nose, almost like burnt coffee grounds. Dark black in color, with a light brown head. Creamy, chocolate, coffee flavors. Almost perceived as thick, but not too sweet. Medium bodied. Very enjoyable

On draft, nitro, at whole foods tap room roseville...Deep black in color with aroma of light roasted malts... Thick creamy head from the nitro... Flavor is akin to Guinness, creamy mouthfeel, roasted malt forward, not too much going on here... Okay

on tap at the auburn ale house. A deep darks tout with a thin moka head. A sweetish chocolate aroma with light berry notes, almost like a fruity mokaccino. In mouth, a good chocolate over resinous hops, and powdery chocolate. Oily mouthfeel. Medium to rich bodied badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 15, 2013
On tap. Black with a fizzy tan head. Sweet roasted grain and chocolate aroma and taste with light caramel notes and a dry bready finish. Medium to full bodied palate. Fatehunter (2622) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Picked up a growler from the alehouse and drank it the same day.
A nice finger of tan head on a black body. Looks good.
The aroma is coffee, chocolate and cream. Quite nice.
The taste has a solid bitterness throughout. There’s a coffee and cream flavor too.
Smooth texture with low carbonation and a heavier body.
A solid stout and sessionable at 4.8%
