Some light roast like watered down coffee. Dark brown pour with ok head. Easy drinking and inoffensive. Bottle. Erzengel (8695) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 29, 2013

Pours a dark copper colour with a white lacy head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malts and grass. Flavour of toasted malts, nuts, some licorice, grassy hops and bread. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a nutty, malty and bitter finish with some licorice. Good one.
bottled, at pils bar franco in erlangen. copperish, not particularly dark, aroma of nut syrup, quite dry and woody with a hint of lacquer and lightly metallic finish AndySnow (7621) - Huddinge, SWEDEN - FEB 8, 2014

Where: On a train during the Bamberg Jolly 2014.
Appearance: Amber colour with an off-white head.
Aroma: Caramel, malt, slightly smoked.
Body: Medium body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Malt, fruit, caramel, hints of smoke.
Marcipan and chocolate aroma, some sharp edges from coloring malt and bittering hops.
Chestnut rown, fluffy head.
Chocolate flavors, still some edges, but pleasantly. Hard dry bitterhop finish. larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2005
Medium fine-bubbled head, dark amber, clear body. Aroma is mostly raisins, with hints of earthiness. Taste is quite powerful and deep, consisting mostly of sweet maltiness and smoky earthiness, with a bitter, dry finish. Something smoky lingers between sips. Overall an unusual dunkel, interesting, and quite good.

500ml bottle. Clear reddish amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lacing, off-white head. Nice dark malty aroma, slightly grainy, a touch of hay, also hints of chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, minimally grainy, a dry husk note. Tasty. Flip-top half-litre bottle BBD 4th July 2013: poured into two ’Hannan Alt’ tumblers at home on 7th June 2013.
Good looking beer: toffee apple red/brown with an off-white head that tried to hang around.
Semi-sweet maltiness in the aroma and taste: caramel and toffee notes coming through from the very start of the tasting. I like the sweeter brews so this was fine by me.
Easy to drink and fairly well balanced: mini bitterness towards the end, but still one of the sweetest Dunkels I’ve had so far. mjs (7259) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 30, 2009
(Bottle) Amber and clear. Medium sized, fizzy and lightly tan coloured head. Strongly malts, fresh malts and molasses in aroma. Medium to full bodied and quite dry palate with medium carbonation. Malts, molasses, fresh malts, caramell, medium roastedness, lightly chocolate and bitterness in taste. Malty and bitter aftertaste.
