0.5 liter mug from a cask (Huber Haus, Omaha) - This beer is not a typical fest beer as most people would consider it. Most fest beers I have had are either in the realm or a Märzen or a light, sweet beer. This baby is a complete caramel malt bomb, but I love it. This ranks in my top ten beers ever consumed. 500 ml flip-top bottle from Wasana’s in Germany. Pours a deep ampber clear color with an almost orange tan head large lasting head. A great looking beer. Aroma is sweet caramel, fruit and candy. Taste is more subdued and mellow. Taste of over ripe fruit and cream. Palate is smooth and mellow then ends dry. A very unusual beer. stevoj (5365) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Nice find here. Pours dark amber with thick beige, fluffy head, and head sticks around. And besides the appearance, a damn good beer to boot. Malty, fruity aroma, hint of spice.Taste is rye, pumpernickel, hints of fruit (apples and citrus), complex. I really enjoyed this. larsga (7608) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2005
Big beige head of fine bubbles. Clear dark amber body. Strong, sweet malt aroma, with hints of licorice. Taste is initially dark malts, followed by a strong taste of treacle/licorice with a dry smoky finish. A very good beer, and quite interesting.
(0.5l bottle at the brewery inn.)

On cask at the Huber Haus. Dark amber red with a thin white head. Interesting combination of malt and roasted aroma. The flavor is thick and malty for a marzen. This is abeefy beer with a nice residual hop bitterness. By no means the top ten as that moron nickspies stated, but a really great beer nonetheless. rauchbier (3908) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2004
Bottle, from Vroni’s in Bamberg. Red bronze, good white head and gentle condition. Big sweet malty mouthful of wort and toffee. Some slight hoppiness, gentle roast barley notes and dominant sweet toffee in the mouth which lingers into the finish with a touch of hop bitterness to balance things up.

From gravity at Holy Grale. Aroma of pumpernickel, almonds and some toast. Appearance is amber brown with thin white head. Flavor is quite almond-centric with some bread; the finish is slight toasty and minimally herbal. Palate is oily and soft. A delight. bartlebier (4084) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2016
50cl fliptop bb04/2016, Maruhn or REWE Bayreuth. - Deep and thick amber pour. Rich honeyed bread crust in aroma with a sourish mash edge, offering the same grainy fruit riches in taste: bready caramels, apple butter, honey. Shy of being too sweet and filling, saved by the sour mash and good natural hop peppers.
