Lighter version of Augrenoise, with thick, mousse-like, off-white foam I managed to catch after experiencing heavy gushing when opening the bottle. Colour a yellowish blonde with a greenish, witbier-like hue, equally clouded. Aroma grainy and wheat-like with fresh lemon, thyme, coriander, table vinegar, hay, pine needle, lavender, bread, herb cheese, also sweat and even some rotten egg, fortunately very subtle. The taste begins softly wheaty and grainy, sourish, with an aromatic accent of lemon zest, a hint of mineral water, soft mouthfeel, supple graininess and towards the end a more powdery and bready yeast effect; the sourishness remains during the whole taste trail and gives some dryness in the finish, where a mild grassy hop bitterishness also appears - and disappears again as quickly as it came. Some phenols too but refreshing and quite interesting nevertheless.

, disconcertingly labeled BB 27/02/2011/70. - A vintage, haphazardly cellared wit, brewed with Orval yeast and under the auspices of Orval’s brewmaster? Don’t mind if I do...even if both bottle, amateurish peeling off label and cheapish plastic cork inspire little awe. Further caveats: "Entièrement conçue et fabriquée dans le cadre de ce projet pédagogique d’intégration, la mise en bouteille s’effectue également sur place et les bouteilles sont décorées d’étiquettes réalisées par des artistes handicapés mentaux." www.guidedesbieres.com/biere922/augrenoise.html Brewed for the good cause and bottled and labeled in part by the handicapped? Which isnjust how this bottle looks...
Pours a lively watery straw yellow wity quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of dust, chalk, whiff of funk and acidity. Palate is dry like a geuze, with a hint of barnyard acidity. Typical almond wheat taste, complemented by tisane, almond sweetness, wild honey, subdued flower aromas. Not quite a light wild wit the same way Orval is not quite a light triple IPA saison. Drinkable and an interesting fusion of styles, hard to tell whether the BB was intended, an accident, or whether this is actually clandestine bottled Orval Vert...

Bottle at Tom’s Tasting, April 2009. Cloudy pale blond. Some subtle spice and touch of yeast. Not a lot to it but pleasant and easy drinking. The first time I’ve had an Augrenoise beer that wasn’t a gusher.

Cloudy yellow gold. Faint sourness on top of a standard yeasty Belgian with hints of citrus in the finish.
Bottle thanks to chriso, had at the cads first london tasting. Alround rating: Thin, small wheatyness, lemons, quite carbonated, innoffensive, but lacking much flavour. harrisoni (19536) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2009
Bottle at the Spotify tasting. Cloudy gold, lasting white head. Bit lemony with Belgian yeast. Very drinkable and I went back to it twice.
