6 oz draft sampler pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee and chocolate. Taste is chocolate and malts. Terminus (3683) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 14, 2005
tap at brewpub in Augusta, MO. pours deep brown with a nice sudsy tan head. big roasty, coffee, char aroma that is somewhat one dimensional, but not in a bad way. big char, anise, roast flavors with a largely roasty finish with some light smokey notes. very char laden finish. body is almost lite, but not really detracting since the flavors here are well delivered. I like ! Dogbrick (13003) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 18, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. This beer is dark brown, nearly black with a medium light brown head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Medium, smooth body with a roasty coffee character, and flavors of burnt malt and hops. The finish is a little on the thin side and consists of coffee and mild hops that lingers for a bit. Above average overall. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2014

Light chestnut color with a taller light tan head. Mild pale malt and roasted malts along with brown sugar in the aroma. Thinner feel. Light roast and coal flavors. Quite dry and quenching. No much depth though. Bif (2242) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JUL 23, 2010
On Tap- Was served a black color, with a 1 finger head that faded quickly with some lacing. Roasted malt and hint of sweetness. Roasted malt and dark chocolate with a bitter finish. Medium body, with a creamy texture and went down smooth & easy. Enjoyable brew but could have been a bit more robust. Good for a couple or just relaxing. jandd1983 (4317) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JUL 23, 2012
It poured a black color with a large tan head. The aroma was a nice mix of chocolate and roasted malt with a little coffee in there. The taste was a little less intense. There was a lot of decent roasted malt with some chocolate milk and coffee but its a bit watery. A very good Stout.sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 6, 2005

It poured a dark color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of maple syrup, maple smoke and some mocha. The taste was like the aroma. A very good Stout.
Tasted 11/5 from the brewery. Dark brown and opaque hue. Chocolate, medium coffee roast, slight sugar and caramel, and anise notes in the nose. Chocolate and caramel flavors at first, then bitter and coffee. Creamy stout, with a mild dry hop finish. Easy! BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - MAR 22, 2015
