UPDATED: AUG 15, 2006 A dark amber beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and the flavor is very sweet malty, again with primary notes of caramel, but the body is thin.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, some wood, mild roasted notes as well as some slight wooden sourness too. Elements are there but really makes a bad combination imho. Flavour is quite much the same with big time licorice coming through. Quite refreshing still. Nice palate, a bit sticky and quite dry, but yet biting carbonation and quite crisp and fresh.

omhper (25163) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 19, 2007
Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear dark nut brown, rich firm head. Sweet and rather light bodied. Lightly roasty with vague soapy mouthfeel . Dryish finis with low bitterness. Going for blance, but ends upbeing well light. The malt character compares infavourably with it’s cousins from Franconia, and it feels less alive.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 28, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, reddish brown with a creamy, off-white head. Caramelish and rather sweet aroma. Medium body with distinct caramel and roasted malt. Lightly hoppy finish. A very classical and straight Dunkel. 180506

Bottle at home ... brown not as dark as expected ... sweet caramel malts little peaty little lager hop nose ... soft fruit malts ... little caramel ... gentle toffee sweetness ... little hop bitterness in finish ... much mellower than expected ... could do with a touch more bite.
