Bottle (500ml from Good Spirits Co., Glasgow): HopfenWeisse (1558) - - DEC 9, 2012
Mainly a malty lager aroma to begin with some sweet malts piled on top and a little bit of biscuit and grassy hops. There is some citrus notes in there too but not a lot and has a clean finish.
Very light golden looking and clear with a pinky sized, foamy white head and plenty of bubles rising to the surface. The head stays okay, with only a slight initial reduction in size but the beer just looks too light to me.
Almost skunky to begin with a lot of sweet but not overly strong malts, there is some ctirus and grassy hops to but again both are light. I got some biscuit and lemon but not much eles really. It was an okay tasting beer but pretty basic in my opinion.
Light medium with lively carbonation and a smooth, wet mouthfeel. There is almost no bitterness in the end as well.
This is another beer that started to grow on me as I got further down the glass. There was quite a good malty base to this one with a some nice light hops and a biscuit like taste on top. It went down very well and would make a great session beer.
Clear golden color with medium head. Aroma is strong malt. Flavor is malt, sweet, some hops. Bibendum (117) - ITALY - DEC 4, 2012
Classica birra per l’oktoberfest. Nulla di trascendentale ma di ottima beva e fa la sua figura confrontata con le sue colleghe. zimbo (975) - SCOTLAND - NOV 29, 2012
THere is quite a lot of power behind this golden beer. Head is modest but there is a nice firm and slightly rough and lingering thirst quenching bitterness that really fires up the taste buds. Does exactly what an Oktoberfest Bier should do. Cunningly lethal too. Gluti (52) - - NOV 28, 2012
Can’t understand why reviews tend to be low. Could easily drink multiple steins of this. Another top notch Augustiner beer.
Best before 02/2013

Fine in colour, good carbonated, full body, a harmonie in hopflavour, could be more aromatic, warm alcoholic and flowery
light caramel at the end
Dobre piwo i chyba najlepsze oktoberfestowe z Monachium jakie zdażyło mi się wypić. Wielka piana na pół kufla. Żólty kolor i aromat słodowy. w Posmaku ciut słodkawym wyróżnia się świeże zboża i trawiaste zapachy. Polecam Cristobal37 (1267) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 15, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2017 I bought this bottle in Berlin. The shop keeper told me that this was the best Oktoberfest bier. I previously enjoyed the HB the most, but I have to say this one is quite a winner. The beginning of each autumn is prime time to enjoy this style. A bit stronger than a lager or summery refreshing beer. The toasted malt aroma is coupled with a smooth almost creamy head. Really enjoyable. Kita (2270) - Koper, SLOVENIA - OCT 14, 2012
Bottled, 0.5l. Clear golden color with large creamy white head and lively bubbles. Aroma of grainy malt with light bready note and grassy hops. Taste starts sweet malty with strong honey note and light, but fresh hoppy finish. Medium to full body, oily texture and averega carbonation in palate. Very tasty... Il classico marzenone tedesco, che sa di poco ma che va giù a ettolitri, non per nulla... brnandersen (4185) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2012
Draught at Augustiner Festhalle, Wiesn, Munich. Served as a Mass. Clear, golden-amber with a big, creamy white head. Light sweet-fruity aroma with caramel and bread malts, grassy hops, hints of citrus and grains. Light sweet taste. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft carbonation. Finishes lightly bitter with grassy hops. Luckily this beer is easy drinkable even in larger quantities. Zum Wohl!
