3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Classica birra per l’oktoberfest. Nulla di trascendentale ma di ottima beva e fa la sua figura confrontata con le sue colleghe.

On tap at the Manchester Beer Festival. Pours a clear golden yellow with an off white head. The smell is toasted grain, grass, hint of honey sweetness. The taste is sweet toasted malt, grass, some light fruit ending somewhat hoppy and dry. Light+ in body with fine carbonation...quite smooth.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Drunk at home. Straw, clear with a thin head and a fair bit of carbonation. Malt with an earthy/leafy/muddy note. The taste is sweet with a note of citrus bitterness in the end. Thin body with notes of honey in the aftertaste. It’s not a great beer but it’s drinkable enough on a Saturday night.

Nose is malt, dough, straw wheat, faint lime: appealing. Taste is caramel, cereal, dough, lightly spicy in the finish. Mouthfeel is tacky. It’s a very nice example.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. A clear, pale amber colour with a small white head that soon disappeared. Biscuity yeast aromas and sweet, biscuity flavours. Some acidity to balance. Hides its ABV well!

Two bottles, drunk from the proper 1L Oktoberfest glass :) Pours light yellow with below average white head. Aroma is malt, grassy hops. Taste is somewhat sweet and somewhat bitter with malt, grassy hops, somewhat and a slightly yeasty in the background. Quite light body for a Maerzen.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a golden colored beer, with a big, fluffy white head.
Smells of young straw, wet grass, a hint of dried wheat, accompanied by toffee and white bread dough. Pretty fulfilling on the nose, due to a herbal hop crispness which blends perfectly into the rustic, bright foundation of the beer.
Has a lively carbonation, while the beer manages to produce a crisp, entertaining flavor profile, showcasing a light, refreshing body.
Tastes of straw right from the beginning, together with wet grass, forest leaves and an effervescent, lively peak. Turns a tad thinner after the swallow, showcasing a stony mineral quality, white bread dough, rich wheat and a hint of toffee. Finishes sweeter, with more toffee on the tongue, balanced by a nice, late noble hop dryness.
Perfect example of this style. I could not stop taking big gulps of this since it is truly refreshing while providing a bright, enjoyable taste of wheat and straw, rounded out by a great hop crispness.
