on tap and 12 ounce bottles at the many augustiner beerhalls in germany. best example of pils in munich by far. TEJA (3345) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 11, 2011
Big fluffy head that dissapears rather fast. Very pale color. Really nice pilsner malt aroma with a litle sulphur. Fresh malty taste with some fresh hops and a balanced bitterness. flavio_b (281) - ROME, ITALY - JAN 11, 2011
On tap @ Augustiner, Munich - Germany. Gold with a medium persistence head, bitter and refreshing. A little bit hoppy with a hoppy finish too. Good pilsener. SamGamgee (2585) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Probably consumed a couple of these along side drink4satan at Euro Youth. I think I’d take this one over their helles most of the time. Light straw appearance with a fluffy white head. Nice hop aroma with more intensity than I would have thought. Good evergreen, mint, and spicy "noble" character. Just a little bit of sulfer. Light and hoppy in the mouth with more emphasis on hop flavor than bitterness. Just a light grainy malt sweetness. Light body with tight carbonation. Surprising hop character and very nice, almost piney aroma. Why did you have to step down to the 33cl bottle if you wanted this one? I hated that about pils in Munich; same price but less beer than the helles... Drink4Satan (677) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 4, 2010
Consumed at some hostel nearby the Augustiner gardens in München. The pour is, well, what you would expect from a well-made, highly refined pilsener bier. A quickly fading head and a brilliant straw coloured body, akin to a budwieser, honestly, but in a beer tasting this fresh, this appearance is more than acceptable. It´s prefered. The nose is a little muted, but poured in its appropriate glass what wouldn´t be?! When are people going to wise up and just pour everything in snifters or tulips or bordeau glasses? Anywho, the characteristic awesomeness actually comes from a very low concentration of what seems to be DMS. It´s like thier house character. Aside from that, is grainy, with slightly zesty noble hop character. Appropriately prickly carbonation is matched with a thin, dry, slightly slick mouthfeel. Basically, the only reason I´m rating this is to pass time until they bleed thier glorious Helles out of a wood barrel. Righteous!

(500ml bottle) Courtesy of Joss. Its so pleasant to have a German Pils as there is more aroma and flavour. Very crisp and herb aroma. Very balanced in texture and flavour, mild bitterness and buttery palate. Tonic, very green hops. So nice compared to North American Pils. shrubber85 (11706) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - SEP 24, 2010
Tap at Augustiner beer gardens. Creamy barley malt and light grass hops aroma. Clear golden yellow color with moderate head. Slightly sweet creamy malt and moderate grass hops flavor. Nice body. Excellent - everything I expect and like in a CGP. birrabona (247) - ITALY - SEP 11, 2010
giallo trasparente, naso floreale, subito il luppolo, gusto pieno, aromatica, finemente erbacea, equilibrata, lunga in bocca, retrogusto laggermente amaro. ottima pils.
yellowe trasparent. floreal flavor of hop. intensive taste. balanced. final litle bitter. very good pils. kappldav123 (6151) - GERMANY - SEP 3, 2010
The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong, a bit sharp-sourish, hoppy and dry. Finish a bit milder, more spicy. Well balanced and quite drinkable. Not bad! Fred82 (2332) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 31, 2010
From bottle at Paulaner brewpub Munich
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a medium fluffy head.
Aroma : Nice citrusy hops, light piny. Some malt.
Taste : Nice malt, a bit citrusy and piny. Finish herbal and citrusy.
Overall : Very interesting pilsner. Unusually hoppy and citrusy for germany (from my limited experience). I liked it a lot. Maybe because I didn’t had anything hoppy for a while at the time...
