Pours pale, clear golden with a fine, frothy, white head. Good lacings. Nice hoppy aroma. Light hay and grass, some pine and good, bready malts. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Very clean flavour, no citric notes. Instead there is good hops, very grassy and a fine, elegant malty balance. A very good pilsner.
Bottled: Fresh hoppy nose, bitter hops with grassy notes. Pale golden color, frothy head. Flavor is malty, medium bodied and pleasant hopped. HErbal hop notes. Bitter, very dry finish. Lovely pils Fred82 (2324) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 31, 2010

Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a medium fluffy head.
Aroma : Nice citrusy hops, light piny. Some malt.
Taste : Nice malt, a bit citrusy and piny. Finish herbal and citrusy.
Overall : Very interesting pilsner. Unusually hoppy and citrusy for germany (from my limited experience). I liked it a lot. Maybe because I didn’t had anything hoppy for a while at the time...
Consumed at some hostel nearby the Augustiner gardens in München. The pour is, well, what you would expect from a well-made, highly refined pilsener bier. A quickly fading head and a brilliant straw coloured body, akin to a budwieser, honestly, but in a beer tasting this fresh, this appearance is more than acceptable. It´s prefered. The nose is a little muted, but poured in its appropriate glass what wouldn´t be?! When are people going to wise up and just pour everything in snifters or tulips or bordeau glasses? Anywho, the characteristic awesomeness actually comes from a very low concentration of what seems to be DMS. It´s like thier house character. Aside from that, is grainy, with slightly zesty noble hop character. Appropriately prickly carbonation is matched with a thin, dry, slightly slick mouthfeel. Basically, the only reason I´m rating this is to pass time until they bleed thier glorious Helles out of a wood barrel. Righteous! MMR (752) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 19, 2011
Pours a nice golden color. Somewhat grassy and hoppy with a nice malt taste to it. A great refresher although the Bayern locals told me the Augustiner Edelstoff is seen as a better version of this one. Good beer.

Aroma: Hay and honey, flowers and grass.
Mouthfeel: Medium body.
Taste: Bitter and crisp.
Finish: Very dry with a lasting bitterness.
Overall: Very nice, indeed. Dry and hoppy. Impavidus (64) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 7, 2013
Clear golden yellow color with moderate head. Slightly sweet creamy malt and moderate grass hops flavor. Nice body. You stick your nose into the glas you will be overwhelmed by a motherload of flowery aromahops. The hops are there in the taste too, nicely balanced with a medium bodyed aroma. The finish is particularly dry, grassy, herbal atop crisp straw-like malts. Carbonation is much higher than I expected, this smashing dry and bubbly Pils. biir (1366) - Berlin, - JAN 6, 2016
Flasche. Vorweg: Ich bin ein großer Pils-Fan und hätte ohne ratebeer sicher noch einige Zeit gebraucht, bis ich irgendwann auch mal das Pils der Münchner Augustiner probiert hätte. Vielen Dank also schonmal dafür!
Strohgelbe Farbe, ordentliche Schaumkrone, Pils halt. Geschmacklich annähernd ideal: Frisch und spritzig, ausgewogen, ohne sich ins Süßliche, Florale oder Würzige zu verlieren, herber, trockener, klatschender Abgang. Sehr gut! Cristobal37 (1143) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 15, 2016
Really fresh and satisfying pils. Huge drying effect on the palate like a dry hopped desert. Tasty hoppy and straight forward beer. Malts are light and definitely play second fiddle to the hops. A great German pils. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 28, 2004
Crisp hoppy nose, clean, with nice malts. Pale yellow clear with white foamy lacing head. Light-medium body with active carbonation. Starts with nice acidity, hoppy, light malts. Good bitter finish, followed by bittr after. A decent pilsener.
