Bottle, Augustiner Brau-stuben, Munich. Nice sparkling colour, herbs in the aroma, bitter taste and hoppy dryness in the end. A classic german pilsener. I don’t understand why all the pilseners are only avaible in bottle in Bavaria, why can’t I get a draugt one anywhere? mR_fr0g (13510) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2014

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2015 I love the pils and the bitter beer. In my opinion, it is a good one. There is the hop but it is not too strong. The colour is yellow clear and the carbonation is ok. I drank this beer in my hotel room after to buy it in the orterer getränk markt. It is a typical and good bayrisch pils to start a night or a good meal. EvaCandido (88) - Padova, ITALY - NOV 4, 2015
Low malty and crackers aroma. Low honey. Med low herbal and white flowers aroma. Low oxydation. Deep gold in colour. White below average not persistent foam. Med high malty and cracker flavour, balance bitterness and noble hop flavour. No esters, low dms in style. Med high carbination, low salty, dry finish and low body. ozzatoadisback (208) - ITALY - AUG 23, 2016
Golden, transparent, quite some carbonation going on. Dense and firm white head, nice lacing. Clean and crisp aroma: cereal, lemon, a herbal/grassy or even slightly resinous feel and a touch of spiciness. Taste follows the aroma, with a moderately sweet entrypoint and firm bitterness in finish and aftertaste (higher than average per style). Light body, average to high but still not too aggressive crispness, overall still easy and fresh. Well done

Had this as a draft at the Augustiner Keller in Munich. Pour was pale yellow with a thick off white head that left a lovely lace on the mug. Great hoppy aroma and malt taste with just enough bitter ending. One Great Pils. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 22, 2007
Light yellow colored, medium sized white head. Strongly hopped and floral pils aroma, reminds me of some Swedish pilsners, I mean these good ones. Medium bodied. Flavor is also excellent with this same floral-yeasty sweetness, which is cut strongly by bitter hops. Hops last in aftertaste with lemon. Again I have to say, Augustiner is one of my favourite breweries. thewolf (12803) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 28, 2009
Bottle, bought @ Ambrosetti, Berlin.Geiserich (4621) - Linz, AUSTRIA - FEB 21, 2010
Pours pale, clear golden with a fine, frothy, white head. Good lacings. Nice hoppy aroma. Light hay and grass, some pine and good, bready malts. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Very clean flavour, no citric notes. Instead there is good hops, very grassy and a fine, elegant malty balance. A very good pilsner.
Bottled: Fresh hoppy nose, bitter hops with grassy notes. Pale golden color, frothy head. Flavor is malty, medium bodied and pleasant hopped. HErbal hop notes. Bitter, very dry finish. Lovely pils Fred82 (2339) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 31, 2010
From bottle at Paulaner brewpub Munich
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a medium fluffy head.
Aroma : Nice citrusy hops, light piny. Some malt.
Taste : Nice malt, a bit citrusy and piny. Finish herbal and citrusy.
Overall : Very interesting pilsner. Unusually hoppy and citrusy for germany (from my limited experience). I liked it a lot. Maybe because I didn’t had anything hoppy for a while at the time...
