Fair shwartz. Big white head on black body. Aggressive carbonation. Significant acid. Drinkable beer, it grew on me.It was only an extra, thanks Steve in Austin for some fun. Some burning tummy. Good roast aroma. Rough patches. phaleslu (10546) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 4, 2012
12 oz. can from a buddy in Texas- thanks again, Bryan! Pours a deep cola brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, brown sugar, earth, nuts, and bread. The flavor is like a slightly watered down version of the same. Light-medium bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a watery mouthfeel that should be more toasty. onceblind (10291) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2011
GABF 2011. Clear black with a light tan head. Nutty toffee aroma with a slight tinge of cocoa. Typical schwarz taste, burnt toffee, light cocoa, and deep roasty grains. Medium-light body/flavor profile, with a burnt malty presence. Just struck me as average. 3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 6, 2013
draft. light chalkiness in the nose along with the obligatory black patent char with lighter milk chocolate notes. medium body, lightly pasty, creamy carbonation and creamy body suggesting oats (which I see now is chocolate wheat, ok). pleasant soft minerallic yeast character.
