COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The English have few redeeming gastro qualities. It’s true. However, the invention of the India Pale Ale is surely one of them. Unlike the huge assault of citrus and pine flavors of a modern American IPA, East Kent Golding and Fuggle hops create a flavor and aroma profile that is floral, earthy and delicate. Our tribute to the original, and a great IPA for any time of year.

Can thanks to Will. Pours a clear orange with paperthin white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong floral, earthy malt, pine. Medium mouth, similar flavors to nose with toasted malt, light bitterness, very good.

Tap at Austin Beerworks. Pours copper, white head with decent retention. Aroma is caramel malt, light citrus, grass, faint floral hops. Taste is earthy, floral hops, caramel malts, toasty, balanced. Well executed English style IPA. Medium body and carbonation. Light to moderate bitterness. A good IPA, but I prefer others in the Heavy Machinery Series.

Grandiose.

Brilliant amber. White lasting head. Nice English malt aroma balanced by heavy bitterness. A bitchin combination.

Initially I was disappointed with the hops not being as aggressive as their other HM beers. Then I woke up to the name - British - duh! I then calmed down, took another sip and proceeded to enjoy the rest of the 4pk - until I bought a few more. Imagine Brits might find it a bit much, but doubt that will become a concern. I will just enjoy it when I can - like at their super awesome anniversary party.

Can thanks to THE angrypirate06. Pours with a crystal clear golden yellow hued body and a medium sized egg shell hued white head that lasts and leaves respectable lace. Aromas are quite floral, marmalade, earthy, spicy, candied orange. Mild hints of ammonia, medium fruity esters, mild isoamyl acetate. Flavors are malty, bready, biscuity and bitter with hop notes showing as floral and lightly citrusy with earthy undertones. Distinctly british ingredient feel. Moderate esters, fuller carbonation, medium bodied with a lasting malty and bitter finish. Not bad, and clearly well made.

Clear dark gold, decent but small head. Flowers in the nose. Gently bitter. Middle is malt with a layers and depth, subtle woody character. Finish is that gentle EK Golding zip. Delicious.
